I constantly hear repubs and gun owners refer to Bush as the best of two bad choices.

Well, what exactly has Bush done that is so bad?

The AWB issue is dead. He said he would sign it if it came across his desk, and he made damn well sure it didn't. In doing so, he saved alot of voters who will/ can help him get elected... so, pick a different line of argument.

Just curious

W '04.

Andy, out.

He's wiped his ass with the Constitution.

He went to war so that his Oil Buddies could profit.

He sprays Black People with fire hoses when they try to vote.

He's a big liar.

His wife is a drug dealer and a murderer.

He allowed 911 to happen, just because he's evil.

He shot a misslie at the Pentagon, just because he's evil.

He and Osama Bin Laden play golf together ALL THE TIME!

He failed to stick up for the Second Amendment, instead saying that he would re-sign an AWB should it hit his desk.

He has failed to close our borderes despite there being an ongoing threat from terrorists.

He has continued to push to KEEP the border open and to expand the amount of our tax monies going to illegal aliens. Keep in mind, I see nothing wrong with people coming here LEGALLY. Come one, come all. Come live the American dream. Don't start off your life here by violating our border laws though or you are no better than any other invader and should be treated as such.

Bush had "Constitutional Questions" on the McCain-Feingold Bill that restricts 1st Amendment protected speech. Yet he signed it anyway. Same goes for the destruction of our 4th and 5th amendment Rights via the USA PATRIOT Act. Warrentless searches? Are you friggin kidding me? The Gestapo used to love those as well.

Perscription Drug Bill. Can someone show me WHERE in the Constitution it GIVES the FedGov the power to use our tax money to give people drugs?

No Child Left Behind. Noble goal. However, same as above. Where in the Constitution does it give the FedGov control over local public schools?

Bush has FAILED to Veto a single bill. Not one. With a stroke of his pen, he could recind his fathers firearms import ban, yet has failed t odo so. He's almost doubled the size of the government and his TSA is a joke.

Despite all that, I'm still voting for him. His stance on defunding certain medical research things and handing control back of to the free markets are commendable. His prosecution of the Iraq war could be more forceful, but at least he is fighting it. He was made noises about another tax cut and maybe trying to get an NRST passed that would do miracles for our business climate. He's basically told the UN to go get knotted, which was far overdue.

If the LP's Badnarik was taking his talking points logic from Boortz, instead of whatever lefty-pacifist whimps he currently is... I'd be voting for him instead.

Not to ensue in the Bush bashing game, but..

Deposing dictators is not a Constitutional mandate

The biggest terror attack in US history is not an excuse and our economy would be much better off without so much government interference, thank you very much. It would have been better to have treated 9/11 like a crime, not a military attack.

Killing terrorists? A lot of the dead Iraq were women and children. Same with Afghanistan. So while, yes, some bad guys were killed, it took the deaths of a lot of innocents to get it done.

We are not out of the Clinton recession yet!

Lowered our taxes. Yeah, but the states raised them some more. And federal spending is out of control meaning we will pay the piper at some point.

Stood up for America in the world? Yeah and now the world hates our guts. Bush has not stood up for the Constitution, and thus, he is a globalist just like his father.

Restored the honor and respect for the office? That's not even important. The presidency is not a royal station, it is a public service. Please don't forget that. I don't see how crapping on the Constitution makes the imperious executive branch more respectable. Anyone can put a gun to someone's head and say "respect me!"

Note Bush said that he had "Constitutional Questions" and not "Constitutional Objections". You and I might agree that we feel this is a violation of Free Speech. However, this was a law passed by Congress, Signed by the President, and affirmed by US Supreme Court. It has passed the Constitutional scrutiny. His "questions" were answered by the SCOTUS regardless of whether you or I agree with it.

And as far as No Child Left Behind. Come on. What candidate or political party could honestly stand up and announce their platform is to no longer fund ANY education. Once again, like it or not, educating our children is the best answer to solving the social and economic ills that plague our country. It's sticking up for it because the bill NEVER CAME ACROSS HIS DESK and he made damned sure it didn't. He also stuck up for the Second by having his AG's office declare that it was an individual right, something no president has done in the last 40 years. What YOU are posting is the bravo sierra.

He took an OATH to uphold the Constitution. Not an oath to have the USSC interpret laws to see if they are Constitutional. If he had a "question" about its Constitutionality, it was his DUTY to kick it back to Congress to fix it. He didn't. Instead, the lefties in our USSC were once again able to subvert the Constitution despite the clear language it contains. The Law is supposed to be interpreted by the Constitution, not the other way around.

Also, those funds TAKEN from the States would go back to the States for education. Instead of being taken from the States, half of it wasted by an out of control bureacracy, then the rest wasted on even more ineffectual programs. All that money and our schools still suck compared to when there was local control. It isn't the money, it is the rampant liberalism being pushed at the Federal level that is screwing our schools.

I think we are gonna have to agree to disagree on this one. I'm a strict Constructionist when it comes to our FedGov. Why bother having a Constitution at all if no one in government abides by it?

The local school districts can't support themselves through local taxes because school districts are notorouis for mismanaging and wasting funds. Therefore they beg the fed for money, well, when they take that money they are also opening the Pandora's box of letting them take some control.

Bush 41 signed an EO to ban imports when he couldn't get the legislation passed by Congress.
