Glocks really do suck?

Glocks really do suck? View Quote To answer question, I haven't found one yet as GLOCK has exceeded all my expectations. |

Springer 1911. Much easier to hit plates with. I have seen several people fail to knock down six plates with a whole glock mag of 9mm
from 10 paces. If I don't hurry it's super easy to not miss at all with either of my 1911s in 45. |

Yeah, screw pistols that are reliable, durable, reasonably accurate, affordable, and that you can replace damn near everything in a couple minutes with a 3/32" punch with parts that require no fitting and are readily available and inexpensive.
No, I want a pistol that's pretty... with "soul". LMAO MARSOC snickers at the OP. |
I wouldn't say they suck, they are just kinda boring. They are very utilitarian. Now that is a good thing to an extent. I love my glock 20 and my glock 26.
Personally I prefer the M&P series over the full sized glocks as I prefer its grip. I also really like my walther p99 over glocks although I don't like its trigger angle. I will say the HK USP made me really not care for the bigger glocks. I bought a 9mm one and found it to be crazy accurate. I've had multiple people shoot it and all of them shot it better than what they were shooting. I have a USP 45 tactical on order as a new suppressor host. I kinda want to try some of HK's other guns now. |

View Quote I've always joked that Glocks are ugly and they have no soul, but they work and they're almost impervious to corrosion. I can start a lot of blued guns rusting in a day when it's 110 degrees out here. I've carried a Glock for 2 weeks w/o cleaning it and not found any rust. I'll carry the gun w/o a soul. ![]() |

My G30SF and G21SF just plain work, all the time, with any load. I do enjoy shooting my 1911s a lot more though. Gonna keep all of them.

A Beretta Cougar was as good as any Glock I have ever shot.
Then I shot a Steyr M9, that convinced me that not all Austrian made polymer striker fired pistols are unergonomic collections of smoothed out Legos. |
I still haven't been convinced that they suck, but shooting a Glock quickly convinced me that they certainly weren't anything special and that Gaston didn't know beans about fighting with pistols.
Walther ppq, to be fair though I mainly just hate the glock mag release and grip.
I was shooting a highly modified glock 35 in USPSA limited major for about a year.
Then I bought an SVI Infinity 2011. The glock is a distant memory, no comparison between the two. The SVI is just on another level that a glock can never be achieve. |
I've never owned a Glock, because I have discerning taste and class. Also, I don't have a Lego man hand shape.
Glocks do not suck, but they aren't anything special either.

I don't get excited about Glocks, they're boring but I carry a G19 everyday.
I like my Sig P225.
I like my 1911. I don't dislike Glocks - I just don't own one. |
A beat-to-shit WWI Colt 1911...
It rattled like a fucking paint can, but boy, it pointed naturally and the trigger broke much better than the squishy staple gun G17 |
My CZs are much more fun, interesting, aesthetically pleasing, more accurate for me and just as reliable as any Glock.
Having said that, my experience with Glocks is that they are 100% reliable, they are quite accurate and I have zero qualms about carrying one and knowing that it will perform when I need it to. Nothing wrong with getting both. |
Never found a Brick-19 or Brick-anything that fit my hand. Glock got it wrong. I'm still convinced John "Jesus Christ" Moses (wait fuck, i mean Moses) Browning designed the 1911 for me specifically, knowing i'd whore it out a century later.
Kinda wanna an FNX. Gun actually fits your fucking hand, and 16 rounds of "fuck you 230gr" seems quite intriguing |

There are sexier guns, that's for sure. Beyond that, this thread topic seems kinda adolescent.

After I shot a Sig P220ST. My glocks ALL became safe toys that sit and collect dust.

View Quote As compared to the other GD weekly adolescent threads that bash 1911's, AK's, shotguns, and anything else that GD doesn't like? Fair game is fair game or we're hypocrites for doing double standards. |

However those qualities you listed and great ergonomics/triggers are not mutually exclusive. You can have both and FYI I actually like the looks of the G19. If they are going to retire the M9 I hope every branch of the military adopts a Glock. It would save tax payer money for much more important things like hypersonic missiles and defense from hypersonic missiles(scary shit). Good on them. |

Glocks dont suck, they just dont work for me.
I did break a return spring in a 19 once, (range gun ![]() I just shoot the M&P better |

I don't hate them, I mean I shot them and they're alright but I hate how it feels in my hand.

After shooting 1911s/2011s, got rid of all the plastic pistols and everything else but the .22s.
Then I got a 5" M&P on a whim to bang on in matches and put an RMR on it, kinda like it. Now I want a G19 or compact M&P to send it off to get the slide cut for another RMR to use as a carry piece instead of a Commander 1911. I could have every Glock for the price of the SVI 2011, but it shoots better than all of them combined... so I'm not sure what the right answer is. |
Glocks are like my harbor freight cement mixer that I use for tumbling brass. Sure its a piece of poorly manufactured cheap shit, but its engineered in a manner that it still works even though its a cheap piece of poorly manufactured shIt.
