Took a mental hygiene day from work today.

Buddy of mine was home on leave, so me him and another buddy who's retired did a range day.

Buddy 1 brought his 12 y/o daughter who is a great kid, loves to shoot and knows how to shoot and handle guns safely at the range.  The kid is a pleasure to be around.

I shot:

My guns:

Bushmaster A1 style Izzy carbine clone, iron sights.

AR Pistol in 223 with 10.5" barrel  Spikes lower with a Mk18 Clone upper.  Primary Arms 30mm red dot and iron sights.

1911 Dan Wesson Specialist in 45ACP

Marlin Camp 45, 20mm micro red dot from ITAC.

Doubleshot in 45ACP

Buddies' guns that I shot

AR15, don't know the specs; had an older ACOG, TA31.

AR in 22LR (my buddy's daughter's gun)

SW Bodyguard in 38spcl.

There were other guns present, but I didn't shoot them.

Much better than golf!

Did you shoot today?

What did you shoot?

Spent the afternoon at the range with my son who is home from college

Shot the 10/22 and Mark III with the SS Sparrow. (pew-pew-pew)

Then, the M&P 9mm and Hk Tactical with the Octane.

ETA: A golf course is a flagrant waste of a perfectly good rifle range!

I drove down to my river property and function tested a Gew 98 and a CZ shotgun.

100 rds,  25 yard,  .22  Buckmark,  barrel cut to 2.5 in  w/can
100 rds,  100 yard .22. Savage w/can

Just got back from breaking in the keltec sub2000 9mm.

It's a hungry little gun, and damn I'm gonna need a lot more 9mm ammo.
250 rounds lasted about 15 minutes.
Link Posted: 4/22/2016 8:21:32 PM EDT
Beretta 90-Two in 40 S&W and Beretta PX 4 also in 40.  PX 4 is ok but I still prefer the 90-Two.

Agency qualification with issued P229, Mossberg 500, and my "in lieu of" Glock 19.  Shot a perfect 300 clean with the Glock.

Also fired a mag each from a Springfield XDS 9mm and a S&W M&P40 Shield owned by co-workers afterwards for fun.
Link Posted: 4/22/2016 8:22:57 PM EDT
My Glock 34 Gen 4
Link Posted: 4/22/2016 8:24:16 PM EDT
Crossman 760. I was going to shoot my new repro 1851 Navy Colt cap and ball revolver, but I forgot the powder and balls at home. Realized it halfway to the camper and stewed on it the rest of the way. The Crossman worked though

M1 Garand - verifying the zero for a match at the end of next month. Those guys are soooo going to be in trouble.

Colt LE6920 - because I hadn't shot it since last fall. I was whacking the gongs at will.

Colt Combat Elite - testing some reloads. Found one load that looks promising.

I had the entire range to my self.  65*, sunny and no wind. It was unbelievable.

I never pictured you to look like a person with 9 foot long arms.
Do you have a spotting scope mounted to the buttstock to see the red dot?

Nope. I'm visiting CA right now.

Shot those guns I mentioned in my previous post. All were full auto except the ones that are inherently semi only (Garand, carbine, FAL). Outrageous fun. The BAR was my favorite.

Also, the Thompson was suppressed Some others and I individually asked different instructors how they came into possession of a Thompson suppressor, we got answers ranging that it was from the CIA to they confiscated it from a Mexican drug lord

I was going to shoot my 6.8spc but decided to sleep in and do a little work stuff today instead.

I'm security and a pilot on a private aircraft. This weekend we are having our monthly training, and I brought my Salient GRY and ATEi M&P9. Spoiled with free instruction and ammo, I know.

No, you fucked up the name and you managed to make the gun even heavier.

Not our fault you Euros have spindly spaghetti arms and are to weak to carry a man's version of that gun.

I woke up with the intention of shooting the MPX sbr with my new Liberty Mystic X can for the first time and zeroing my new Nightforce 2.5-10x42 on the 14.5" tOBR 7.62.

But after a solid workout at the gym the prospect of 2 hours round trip in the truck sounded like shit.  Maybe Monday afternoon.

I'm not doing any shooting right now, stockpiling all the ammo I can.

I don't go to the range on weekends, I let the working slobs use it then. I go mid-week.

I did go slobber over some guns today...

Colt New Service .357 Magnum, refinished/restocked, over-priced.

S&W Third Model Hand Ejector .44 Special, ditto.

Ruger Bisley Blackhawk .480 Ruger-arthritis and heavy handgun loads are a bad combination.

2 original 1885 Low Walls, first one in .218 Bee, basically only the action looks salvageable.

Second one was in .22 WRF, stock is usable, bore is dark but decent rifling. Ammo isn't easy to find and expensive when you do.

A Remington 788 in 30-30 Ackley Improved, still had a trajectory chart taped on the stock. The 788 is known for being very accurate, brass is easily made, dies are available, it's under 5 bills with a scope on it...I might talk myself into this one.

Axtell Model 1877 Sharps in .45-90, reasonable price, I want it real bad but just ain't got the cash and am unwilling to trade/sell anything else.

Ruger #1 in .257 Weatherby with a 28" barrel, decent wood, premium price.

Winchester Model 71 Custom, again a very nice rifle at what I consider a decent price, but like the Axtell, out of my price range.

Well, us Euros aren't as experienced in carrying around as much unnecessary weight as you are.
