Many if not most of us have had an account lock here at least once. What did you do to get it?

Haven't been locked yet, but I was warned once when I posted something nice about a seller in the EE. The mod thought I was bumping the ad excessively, the seller was really just a nice guy and was helpful with my questions.

Never. I've had a few threads locked but only once for my own asshattery, the rest have been the antics of others.

I have enough real world problems and don't feel the need to fuck up my one and only extracurricular vice & play area. I've never been locked. I'm not sure if I've ever had an "official" warning.

Never been locked...

But then again, I'm a vet of the most brutal years in the history of the site, '02-05. What gets you a permaban today, wouldn't even raise an eyebrow back then...

It was ruined by 'internet tough guys' that would get butt hurt and run to the mods for a hug.

I'd like to take a moment and make it clear that moderators do not give out "hugs".

...well, maybe if it's a hot chick and she agrees to pose for naughty pictures or something, but that's about it.

never have been.

I've come close on a couple of occasions to saying "fuck it" and going out in a Blaze of Glory or simply posting a "I'm done" type message in Team and asking for my account to be locked, but always either cool off or walk away from this place when I get that caught up in it.

I got the permaban for a story I told about hitting a bycicle rider with my truck (The rider hit me) but the way I told the story all tough and whatnot sounded like I tried to kill the guy. After much E-mail and telling of the story in a less tough guy way I was un banned.

ETA: I think 82nd said it was the fastest BAN ever on ARFCOM at only 80 seconds from my post to my BAN!

I've had a timeout or two....or three.

One was a month vacation.
I have to control my sense of humor. It can get a little wild sometimes. Let's leave it at that.

I can also be rather outspoken about my opinion concerning certain topics of a religious nature. Gotta watch that, too!

I used to be a moderator but I lost that when I decided to give as good as I got when someone insulted me. I don't take

shit from anybody. But a mod is supposed to be the calm, moderate voice of reason. In that conflict, my mod status

was SURE to fail.

I let someone bait me into calling him a "stupid (less then complimentary ARFCOM leo monkier that rhyms with ABC )" after he called me a stupid libertarian

I pissed in a mods cheerios with a comment he took WAY WAY wrong

and I am perma banned from the BOTS thread after posting some comment that would fly in GD , but was not appropriate for the BOTS forum, I had grabbed it off the active topics list, I edited the comment less then 2 minutes later , and 14 minutes after that got an account warning from a mod. In the course of discussion why I thought it was bullshit , since I edited as soon as I saw I was in BOTS. i called it the BOTS forum "secret squirell club"...... Appearently thats all you need to get perma banned from there (which is for the better anyway, As I usually post from one of the backdoor sites and the forum that a thread is in does not appear anywhere on the active topics list, and I am sure i would have stepped on my dick again by now

.)

They tell me I have 1 or 2 other account warnings, but I havbe no idea what for and dont remember them.....

I am real close to following MC4H out the door but am trying REALLY hard to be good.

I had a thread and acct lock once when, while drinking and watching a ballgame, a friend posted something stupid when I went to take a piss. Lasted a day or so.

A guy posted two Colt 9mm magazines for sale in the EE.

$45 each. First "I'll take it" gets them.

I posted I would take them.

The ad had been up for several hours when I posted.

Then got an IM saying it was a "typo" and he meant to type $75 each but he would let me have them both for $140 shipped.

I posted his IM in the EE thread and asked if he was welching,

And that's when the fight started.

We both got locked for 24 hours and I got both mags for $90 and left feedback in the EE.

I have only been locked once (Not including dupes.). I posted a thread asking if it was ethical to repay a debt to a friend with a .40 cal Glock considering their propensity to blowup.

I thought it was cute, but the mods disagreed. (Must have been a Glock lover.)
