It means they built an AR15. But, its not go fast and cool to just say "Hey, check out my AR15!" so they change the name and say "Hey, check out my <insert go fast name>"

Its very akin to saying rather then "Hey, check out my new wallet" you say "Hey, check out my new limited edition stingray leather with clacium stripes money retention device!"

I bought the upper last year off the EE. A fellow ARFcomer chuck1 if I remeber correctly, built it. The whole thing was custom built the fake suppressor too(I know, I know)

While not to spec it sure is the prize of my collection. Someone with better shootin skills could probably ring her out a little better than those crappy groups I got today.

I think soon I am going to break down and have to have something like that built.
And it would be the prize of my collection also

Can someone give me a figure of about how much one of these rifles would cost to have built and who does this on this site. I would use a colt lower that I have

There are a bunch f vendors on the site who can build you an SPR-type upper; MSTN, ADCO, JTAC all come to mind. I'm sure there are others.  Mine was done by me on an Armalite M15A4 SPR.

Figure at least $1500 for a custom upper, plus another $150 -$300 for a stock, $200 for the LaRue SPR scope mount, and $500-$2000 for optics.

Mine:
$1100 NXS & SPR mount(used)
900 Custom upper(not spec)
250 RRA lower(no special trigger or other bells and whistles)
250 Magpul PRS

$2500 for my clone, and I'm a cheap sombitch, gonna get a MIAD and eventually a fancy trigger.

Not a bad way to go. IMHO you could upgrade the trigger on the RRA lower and then save your pennies for a really schweet trigger later. RRA's two-stage trigger is pretty nice- a little heavy for the second stage's breakoff, but still not bad.

I added all my bling up tonight, and its a hair under $2K, thats with a cheap forend (YHM) and a relatively cheap used leupy scope.  I used the reduced power springs in my build instead of a full two stage trigger, its still very nice and IMO more reliable.
