I don't live with this site in front of me 24 hours a day. Most "dupe topics" do not bother me a bit, as usually I hadn't seen the original.

I think that one must use some common sense in the matter. If someone has been living on the net for the last 15 years, then they have probably seen it all, and therefore it is a dupe to them. I can very rarely point out a dupe topic though, and therefore benifit from them on occasion.
However, when there is a dupe topic on the same page with about 90,234,208,000 replies, then you are a moron for posting, and perhaps should be shot for the betterment of society. |

People need to check for existing threads before they post a topic. There should be "official threads" started, clearly marked and maintained much sooner for hot topics/ issues.I think some people do it intentionally; why, I don't know, since they gain nothing by the practice.

The fact you take time to look at a duplicate thread AND then take time to reply and bump it up again makes no sense to me????  Sometimes it's even interesting to see how two of the same topics can differ in content.
