$10 cut from local barber. $5 tip for being such an asshole. He makes me laugh the whole time I'm there.

All my haircuts are sefl inflicted these days. Nobody cares what I look like, and I can do a passable high-n-tight with the $20 clippers I bought a Wally world about three years ago. Haven't paid for a cut since then. Savings in the hundreds....chicks do not dig it.

$15 plus tip.

I cut my own hair
Poor college student
Link Posted: 9/10/2005 11:04:14 AM EDT
I have my own clippers. Doing a buzz cut on yourself is easy. Seeing as I paid $12 for the clippers, I've say they've paid for themselves several times over.

In highschool through college I never had a haircut. I saved a bunch of money.

Only problem was when ppl called me a hippie I was force to kill them. oh well.

now I have a haircut, and I can arcane into a crowd easily.

$0 My brother owns his own hair shop. And no, he's not a homo.
Link Posted: 9/10/2005 11:19:05 AM EDT
$500.00

The old guy that cuts my hair owns "The Stag", his name is Bob. He is a former Marine. He has cut my hair for darn near 20 years, and now also cuts my son's. He is just up the street from the local high school that has a MCJROTC unit, and when I was a kid he gave me a couple free haircuts (high and tight) to make sure I was good to go in my Uniform. Bob would rather hunt then F-ck, and I can see where he is coming from... Anyway I took in a AR-15 that I built, He said that he had never fired one before (he was M-14 in Nam) so I ran him through it and he took a liking to it. Bob is the biggest Pro Military guy I have ever met and he has pic's of everyone up in the shop in their BDU's in all the far off lands they are in. Bob asked a couple questions about my rifles one day, and I always seemed to bring in my new builds to show him....

Last week I took in a Colt A-1 upper'd/MEGA lower AR-15 and just gave it to him.

Me and my son did not pay for our haircut that day.

I haven't paid for a hair cut in 5 years. I bought a set of clippers and had the wife cut it but that was a pain and made a bit of a mess. I then started to shave my head and have not gone back. I use a Mach III any where from once to twice a week. I can get a blade head to last about a month and a half and at 2 bucks a head I guess that is around $24.00 per year.
Link Posted: 9/10/2005 11:23:49 AM EDT
Free as I have a pair of clippers and keep a shaved head.

I used to pay $65 (tip included), and that was with one of the newer stylists. The more seasoned stylists in the salon charged as much as $95 (before tip) for a mens haircut.

It was one of those designer type salons where you walk in and they offer you whatever you want to drink. I'd always have a glass of champagne (or two sometimes). Before they'd even start to cut my hair, I'd get a very nice scalp, neck & shoulders massage. Everything was cut with scissors, even trimming my facial hair and sideburns. No clippers were ever used unless specifically requested or absolutely necessary. They would shampoo and condition before the haircut, and then rinse out afterwards. Start to finish took about an hour, but it was a very relaxiing hour. One of the nicer things was that this is where many of the South Beach models go and get their haircuts, so the 'talent' walking in and out of that place was phenomenal. I made a few nice friends over the 2 year span that I went there until my 'girl' moved to L.A. I was lucky enough to have made friends with another stylist in the same salon that cuts my hair at her home (or mine sometimes) for $30. Of course, that doesn't include all the perks of the salon like massages and eye candy, but oh well. I'm happy with it. Even the Supercuts around the corner where I live charges $25 for a mens haircut so it ain't so bad. I DO remember the days when I used to get my haircut at Supercuts for $8 though. Times have changed.

That's my damage there. Really hurts doing it every 1 1/2 - 2 weeks. I need a home cut remedy. I'm not nearly talented enough to do it myself.

$13 for the cut, $7 for the tip. That makes it an even $20. (I like nice round even numbers)

Too damn much

I cut my onw.

I got tired of $15 hair cuts every 4 - 6 months. So a couple years ago I went to Walmart and bought a Remington clipper kit for $13. Paid for it's self the first cut.

Another one who self inflicts his haricuts.

Not much to cut, doesn't take long.

I go to "Sheep Shears" here in Abidjan. Costs about 2 bucks and lasts about a month.
Trouble is when they lose power, you have to sit there until power comes back cause they don't know how to cut hair with scissors....
Never have to worry about talking to the barber either, they only speak French.
Link Posted: 9/10/2005 1:16:08 PM EDT
I'm the long haired hippie freak of the "cut it yourself crowd" as I use a 6 guard on my Oster clipper. I spent $70 on the clippers about 5 years ago. There not those $20 cheap walmart crap, these will last forever.

You need some serious help...

You could fill an armory on what you spent on your hair.

As for spending $10-15+ a pop for hair cuts… that is one pistol a years worth.

Priorities…

The little woman found an entire barber kit, electric clippers included, on sale at Wal Mart a while back for less than $10.00. She uses a "0" and if she gets close enough when working in front of me, I get the "tips" nips stuck between my teeth, thus I try to get my haircut weekly.

$12 with a $3 tip.
Link Posted: 9/10/2005 1:30:27 PM EDT
I paid less than $30 for my Wahl clipper kit. Spread the word! Unless you are one of those sissies that uses "product" in your hair
Link Posted: 9/10/2005 1:35:48 PM EDT
$10 at the local shop or $7 at a shop in town for when I want to have a hottt young woman play with my hair.

Free. My aunt runs her own salon and has done mine for free since I can remember.

Buzz it myself!

It isn't really about saving $$ for me (although that is a big plus) I hate having to make the time to go sit and wait to get a crappy hair cut.

I used to shave my head with a razor but stopped that a year ago & just let it grow wild. Now its down past my eyes. I doubt if I'll cut it anytime in the near future, I just don't care too & I wear a hat at work so
Link Posted: 9/10/2005 3:59:40 PM EDT
I pay $2 for the razor blade, $2.50 for a can of shave gel that lasts about a month and a half.

Every other day whether I need it or not.

I've gone to the same lady since I was young, I used to pay $8, but these days its $10. Sometimes I'll toss in an extra buck or two. Even at $10, she's making lots of money on me, as she has always owned her own salon, and now she just has a small salon built into her house.

I dont know what I'll do when she quits the business.

Sweet F.A. At least for the last five years (this month) I have been growing my hair to donate to LoL. No, even at my late great age it is NOT white hair, it is still brown / auburn.

Yeah, yeah, just an old man adding some much needed karma....get over it!
