Never drank much egg nog, but my wife really likes it. If I am going to drink it I might as well enjoy. What mixes best? I am thinking a dark rum like Myers or a good whisky.

Spiced rum is my preference.

As far as I'm concerned, there's only one thing to mix in egg nog . . . more egg nog!

Yummy Eggnog Pie

"A yummy delight which has become a holiday tradition in our family as it will in yours! It is surprisingly easy to prepare! Rum may be omitted or substituted with 1 teaspoon rum extract."
Original recipe yield: 1 - 9 inch pie.

Prep Time:
30 Minutes
Cook Time:
15 Minutes
Ready In:
4 Hours 45 Minutes
Servings:
8 (change)

INGREDIENTS:

* 1 (4.6 ounce) package non-instant vanilla pudding mix
* 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
* 1 1/2 cups eggnog
* 2 teaspoons rum
* 2 cups heavy cream
* 1 (9 inch) pie shell, baked
* 1 pinch ground nutmeg

DIRECTIONS:

1. In a medium saucepan, combine pudding mix, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, and egg nog; mix well. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick and bubbly. Remove from heat, and stir in rum. Transfer mixture to a large bowl, cover, and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
2. In a medium bowl, whip the cream to soft peaks. Remove the cold pudding from the refrigerator, and beat until smooth; fold in whipped cream. Spoon into baked pie shell. Sprinkle additional nutmeg over the top for garnish. Refrigerate 4 hours, or until set.

I like both rum or a good bourbon. In true ARFCOM tradition, I have been known to do both at once!

This mountain is pure snow! Do you have any idea what the street value of this mountain is?

50% Egg and 50% Nog.

It's just that simple.

When no one is looking, I crank the mix to 87 percent NOG!

DUPE! but here's my eggnog recipe:

MOOSE MILK

4 qts. milk
2 qts. half & half
6 qts. egg nog
2 gallons vanilla ice cream
120 oz. amber rum
40 oz. Canadian club
4 (26 oz.) bottles Tia Maria

Pour all the ingredients in a bowl, let the ice cream melt, and mix gently. When serving, sprinkle the top with nutmeg. Makes 6 gallons.
Note: Since this makes so much I make only 1/4 of the recipe. You can substitute Godiva Chocolate Liquere (sp?) for the Tia Maria.

Got this recipe from some Canadian officers I worked with. Goes down like a milkshake, puts you down like a full-power shot from Squatdog.

Oh yeah, make sure you hang the "NO SMOKING WITHIN 50 FEET" sign, the alcohol content is downright poisonous.

ETA: BTW, this is a fat-free recipe.
