.30-06 no question about it.

The one year I was at deer camp in Potter County... we had a full 25-man hunting roster for the first week of buck season.

IIRC, about 23 of them were .30-06's...  one .270 and the oddball .35 rem.

I'm extremely biased towards the 308 .

So I'd say that , the 45acp , the 30-30 or the ought' six .

Does anyone have a graph or a decent link to an ammunition sales graph ?

I was gonna say .30-06, but .22LR is all red-white-and-blue, BSA and summer in the country.

really? i always thought the .30-30 was a straight wall cartridge. i always thought of it as a really big extension of the .45 lc.

I'll go against the grain and say .45 Colt. Nothing depicts the US like the old wild west, and this was the cartridge that made it famous.
