Not ours - my nephew. They live in tiny Andalusia, AL and all he asked for was a kayak.
Our kids are 8 and 10 so it's a tree full of Legos, hot wheels, and nerf guns. We're stuck on ideas, and that age was 30+ years ago for me. |

Is someone else getting him a kayak?
If not, get one. If someone is, get him stuff go with it. Paddles, flotation vests, etc. |
|
Buy him something he needs. I was always happy to get new socks and underwear. A box of shot gun shells or rimfire was an awesome gift.
Find out what he does for hobbies and go from there. I don't want anything for Christmas. Every day is Christmas for me. |

Kayaks can be had for cheap now, He doesn't need the best to start off with, even an open top one im sure he would be happy with.

Depends what he's into. Steam gift card, maybe?
Or you could be the cool uncle, and buy him an Esee 6. |

Have you asked him if he likes kayaks?
I have a 15 year old boy who probably wants a few things, but only deserves very little. I got him a set of barbells and dumbells. |
|
AR-15 maybe?
Y'know, UPS delivers them to random good little girls and boys. When they only thought they were getting airplanes. |
|
Go on craigslist and buy him a used (in good condition) kayak.
You can get a great kayak for pretty cheap secondhand. Get the kid what he wants. |

No Playboys. First off, it may lead to porn addiction. Don't ask me how. Sneakers. Jacket. Clothes. |

Kershaw 3650CKTST Black Volt II Serrated Folding SpeedSafe Knife from amazon. Approx $25. I'm giving my 16 year old one along w/ a morakniv knife. The Volt II is very nice for the price. It is my EDC.

Paddling specific vests are much nicer than your standard boating PFD when used in a kayak. Drybags are nice to have. Poly lines are nice to have. A sponge on a rope is nice to have and a bilge pump is a necessity. |

He's saying that he wants a kayak because he's too shy to tell you he really just wants some pussy.

The gear to go with a kayak and a class some where so he does not learn by drowning . I watched a guy come really close to drowning once while hiking . A good comfortable life jacket a paddle , waterproof bags . fishing gear . It all adds up quickly.

15 sounds pretty close to 16, and 15 year old boys need tools to fix the car they are about to buy with their MacDonalds money.

Well, a kayak might be an option. Or a card.
But for real, if that's all he wants, and no one is getting him one, as mentioned, maybe pool resources with other family members and get him a kayak, because that would be awesome. If he's already getting one, and has specifically stated he does not want anything for Christmas besides that, don't get him anything because he might be saying it because he doesn't want people to feel obligated to make purchases for him, and/ or the entire premise of gift giving as a means to buy affinity and secure favor doesn't jive with him. Or maybe he knows people have bills to pay and their own family to buy for, and doesn't want take away from that. ETA- as mentioned if he is getting a Kayak, accessories would always be good. |

He may need fishing and camping gear too... maybe a trailer or roof rack. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

This, life jacket, throw line, para-cord, paddle, dry bags, good shorts, hat, a good fixed blade knife, plenty of stuff. |
