RRA upper? I will be taking my AR to the range for the first time Monday. I hear you need to break in AR barrels. What do I need to do?

Clean the barrel really good before you shoot the first round. After the first round clean lightly. Then clean it again when the accuracy starts to fall-off. Don't be anal it's an AR. It will take care of you.

It was recommended to me to clean it before the first round, then clean it lightly after every round for the first 10 rounds. Then clean it lightly after every 10 rounds for the next 100 rounds. It seemed a little excessive to me, but I did it anyway. I don't know if it was the way I broke it in or not, but it will eat the center out of a paper target at 100 yds. Hope this helps.
