[ARCHIVED THREAD] - What cartridge is this?

It has some numbers on the base, but I can't read them. Here is a picture of the bullet, next to a round of 30-06 ball on the left. What is it? My son says "Thanks!"

I picked up a 12ga shell unfired at the state game area, and I tossed it into my car
