5.56x45 = too small 7.62x39 = too small 7.62x51 = good choice .458 SOCOM = better choice .50 Beowulf = better choice anything other than a semi-auto = bad choice |

You are going to need a semi-auto in at least .308, because once you kill one, you are going to have to kill the others, or we won't be hearing from you again.

If I had to go with something that I have in my safe RIGHT NOW, I'd take my A-Bolt in .300 Win Mag, loaded with 180 grain Accubonds - this is for mountainous hunting. If I were going into the brush after him, and would have to shoot fast, my Garand with standard 150gr ball.
