My mom: is 4th gen. American of Dutch/German/American Indian origin
My dad: immigrant from the Philipines w/ Philipino/Spanish origin

Dad's side.
French who went to Cuba in the 1800's, then to New York during the depression, then Miami in the 1960's

Mom's side.
Spanish/Porteguese who went to Cuba in the 1920's, then to California in the early 60's, then Jersey in the late 60's, then Miami in the 1970's

You know, I'm probably one of the few people here that can say "I really don't know" and be perfectly honest about it.

I was adopted. I only found out a few years ago that my birth mother was the daughter of a doctor. She was "indiscreet" and took a long "vacation" in Hawaii because of it.

Yup, I'm a honest-to-God bastard.

Remember, this was 1957.

Know nothing about the "sperm donor" or anything else about my birth mother.

My adoptive parents picked me up from the hospital when I was 3 days old and thus began my life.

I can truly say "I'm am an American" without a single twitch thinking about anything "hyphenated" to go along with it.

All American, but my roots are;

Paternal grandparents came here from Germany in the early 1900s, and were 100% German. Supposed to be a high-ranking Nazi relative in there somewhere, but I've seen no proof of it.

Maternal side is asst. mutts, with various amounts of Irish, English, Scottish, and Cherokee. I've been told that through some marriage/cousin deal we're related Andrew Jackson, but I have seen no proof of it.
