I'm debating between going to Vegas or going down to Newport Beach, Ca. Vegas is a lot of fun, but the expense and the fact that I've done Vegas for the last 4 years kinda makes me want to do something else.

What are you doing?

Going over to a friend's house. About 10 people, nothing special. Probably won't have even one drink. Sit around, talk, watch movies, play some music, possibly play some cards.
He and his wife and kids, rent a house on a working farm, about 40 miles from me. For excitement, I might walk out to the cow paddock around midnight, and see if I can moo or cluck the cows to me.

Seriously, I haven't wanted anything to do with a big New Years Eve bash for a long time.

Go to bed.  Sorry, but I look more forward to a New Year's early morning squirrel hunt with the kids than I do staying up.

Work part of the day, then go to my parents house and get drunk and watch TV, and make a good solid attempt to snarf all the food and remaining eggnog in the house before they get home (or I die, whichever comes first).

Sit home with a meat and cheese plate attempting to stay awake until the new year.  If we make it, we've got a bottle of Champagne to toast the new year with, but that's about it.

Oddly, it's the only night of the year I find it hard to stay awake past midnight.

We'll probably go to bed early and sleep in in the morning.

Not sure about New Years day, though.

If the past 3 years are any indication, I will be spending it in the hospital ER with my 4 year old son.  He has a kidney disease and is on immune suppressants and this time of year is a real bitch on him.  In the past month he has had strep throat, a cold and a stomach virus.  The little guy needs a break.

Having a few friends over - drink a few beers, toast the hour, and drink a few more beers. Probably make a big breakfast Thursday morning before everyone leaves.

I'm going over to Crimson_Tide's to spend New Years together with our girlfriends.

Probably watch a few movies, maybe take a midnight fourwheeler ride [;)]

Getting knee-walking pig-slopping drunk, bump-firing off 6 or so 30 round mags of ammo, puking on the living room furniture and carpet and finally passing out, but only after pissing my pants.

Another typical new years eve for me...

Not sure where but I know with who.

Me and the wife will either be at home or head out to Corolla in the outer banks and get a room.

No matter were we are we will give thanks that we have a good life .

Cooking a big-assed dinner for almost a dozen good friends, getting out-of-my-mind drunk and letting the bodies lie where they fall. [:D]

Note to self: conspicuously post the "Please unload sidearm if you can't remember how many glasses you've had." signs before things get rolling.

I'm behaving and staying here with my friends(you guys).

Brad86 is coming up and we're gonna put some lead down range in the morning.

Got to be Chipper, if you catch my drift.

Hang on, it was something about what was in your canteen that wasn't alcholic. About 8-10 months ago.

I'll see if I can find it.

Might fire some blank ammo out of my AR (I live in a northern VA yuppy neighborhood). I think some of my Arab neighbors will appreciate being made to feel at home.  :)

DING, DING, DING!!!  That's a Winner!

Happy New Year to You.  Cool.  Your kids should remember the morning 30/35 years from now.

I do.  'Spare you the details, but dang, Daddy's yellow jeep was ugly.  But not to me at the time.  Granddad's single-shot Ithaca, 20ga. He made the rear peep sight for it.  I poked a hole in his screen door with it on the way out that morning.  I was sitting on a stump, squirrel jumped about 3 feet up on a pine tree and I got 'em.   ......

Anyway, the wife and I took the concept of a  midnight kiss a step or two further.  It's been the tradition for many years.  Expect to be in marital bliss at the 'Stroke' of 1-1-01-04. [;)]

I am going to shoot automatic weapons and compare the sound reduction levels of my latest 22lr design suppressor against others who have purchased reputable commercial models.

Pretty much the same thing I do every day.

Take over the world.

Well the wife has the flu or some kind of bug. I am at home holding her hand. I am amusing myself with some reloading supplie and cannon fuse. A little bit of PVC and some duct tape and instant fun.

I guess I will pop a cork and sit back and feel another year slip on by. [beer]
