For me it's
.308 Aussie surplus - can't resist a good price 9mm - WWB, CCI blazer .22LR - always a few bricks on hand |
.223 -Varmints must die
20 guage - Clay pidgeons must die .17HMR - More Varmints must die |
Looks to me like somebody's been peeking in my safe... |
What? You mean that small stack of ammo I was checking out? Nah, too little to bother with. |
Hmm. Let's see... .22LR, 9mm, .40mm, .45ACP, .223, 7.62x39, .308 surplus, .308 BHBT for long range dial-up.... |
.40mm? What do you shoot that in? |
A talon t 40, you mean you don't have one? |

5.56
45 ACP 7.62x39 But in all truth, probably 22lr. When $8 gets you 500 rounds, its easy to get into the thousands without even thinking about it. |
7.62x39
5.56 .45 Now that I have a 9mm I'll start acquiring that too. |
Only calibers I "stock up" on are .223, 30-06 and .45
After all, if aliens attack, I'll grab the AR and a 1911, and issue garands and 1911s to my neighbors. |
7.62 x 51 ..Aussie,Portugese CETME, M1A ( and Indian .308 for my Ishapore & crappy shooting FNFAL )
7.62 x 39 ..Wolf for SKS and AK 5.56 ..IMI and Winchester for AR & Mini 9MM ..all flavors "white box" type specials mostly 7.62 X25.. Romanian for my CZ-52's 7.62 x 54 Albanian ..for my M-39, Commie mosins and SVT .303 British PMP ...for SMLEs 12 gauge ...Wolf or PMC slugs & buck for Zombie duty .22 ammo by the brick everytime I go to Meijer for "groceries" 8mm Turk ..for my Yugo 48s 8mm Romanian ..for the Hakim 7.5 MAS by FNM for m49/56 and M36 Oh, and I scarf up every reloadable empty casing I find, as well as lead that I can melt down for home casting & reloading. I have reloading tools for ALL my guns but only reload for the hard-to- find or expensive rounds like the .303, 30-'06 ,30-30 and and 7.5 Swiss Ya got any ammo you want to get rid of ? |
Well 3 ain't enough...
9x17 (.380acp), 9x19 ( 9mm Para ), .45acp, 5.56 Because I have to feed my stamp collection. |
Excluding .22lr (always keep several bulk packs around).
7.62x39 3 SKS's to feed 5.45x39 Romanian AK's need love'n too... 7.62x25 ....as do Bohemian hand howitzers (Cz52) 12gauge in 4rth place, no real need to stock up excessively, every gunstore, -Mart & general country store has some available. Enuff kept on hand to deal (short term) with zombie or deadite attacks. Same for .38Special/.357 Mag, easy to find so I buy as needed (I always keep several boxes in reserve anyways so I'm never low). |
.22lr (all Winchester Super-X)
.40 S&W 12 gauge (Federal size 6 lead shot normally, with a few boxes each of size 2 steel shot and some 00 buck shot.) |
5.56
7.62x39 12 Gauge .00 buck and now .458 SOCOM (in casin' I get jumped by a herd a buffalos!) |
The three I have the most of:
5.56 7.62x39 30.06 I also have a fairly large amount of : 8mm 7.62x54R 7mm 12 guage .22 |
SHTF ammo that gets 'stockpiled'
5.56x45 Lake City XM193 Mil-Spec 55gr FMJ 5.45x39 Barnaul 60gr FMJ 7.62x39 Uly Mil-Spec 124gr FMJ of course, there is always much smaller supplies of the following: 5.56x45 69, 75, 77gr BTHP for the SPR .308 168gr Federal Match / Hornady TAP for the Remington 700 .45ACP 230gr FMJ, Hydroshocks, and Speer Gold Dot .22LR Match .22Mag This is EXACTLY what I tried to prevent from happening, too many calibers of ammo. |
Lately it's been:
5.56x45 7.62x51 .45 acp I fell for the 5.56 ammo shortage scare thing. I am now the proud owner of over 10,000 rounds of the stuff. More on the way. sigh |
5.56 for AR
9mm for CCW gun (hopefully a .45 someday) .22 for Ruger 10/22 |
HOLY SHIT! I don't have 10,000 rounds of ammo total! |
5.56
.30-30 .44 mag My other calibers (40 S&W, and 45ACP) are pretty easy to get a hold of |
