A 45lb snapping turtle took a 55gr while hissing at me on a south Ga.river bank. The single shot from my 16 inch m4gery exploded the shell and sent this huge snapper flying 15 feet in the air! This round is devastating!

Today during my lunch break at work I took a computer keyboard into the woods and hung it by its cord from a tree branch.  I proceeded to blast it with an AR15.  Talk about fun!  One of the best reactive targets I've ever had the pleasure of peppering, it danced at the end of the cord and emitted what looked like smoke when hit.  The keys didn't fare too well either.  I considered taking it back to the office, giving it to our network technician, and asking him what was wrong with it.

Too many armadillos to count.  I usually use a 55gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip with 26grs. of Win748 behind it.  Typically it blows a chunk of meat out of the armadillo about the size of both your hands cupped together.  Also shot a few possums and racoons and one 120lb hog which I wouldn't normally have shot with the 45gr. VMax I was at the time carrying except he was an irresistable broadside shot at about 45 yards.  I hit him right behind the front left shoulder hitting a rib which must have exploded as the entry wound was approximately 5 inches long and 2 inches wide.  Most of the bullet was found on the inside hide of the opposite flank with the biggest remaining piece right at 20grs.  When I got to him, there was not a twitch left in him.

Countless prarie dogs with v-max moly and jhp.  Man those prarie dogs just detonate.  When you hit 'em you can hear the "whop" of the bullet impacting at 400 yrds with ear plugs in.  When you go to 'em there's nothing left but head and exploded innards mixed with the grass they've been eatin.

I don't recommend the .223/5.56mm for big game, but there are lots of feral pigs that need killin', and an M4gery slung over the back does not add much weight to the hike to the tree stand. GA requires expanding bullets, so I use a 55 Nosler or a 53 Barnes X. Devastating if you place it right. On pigs, try to hit them right behind the ear. That way they don't squeal too much. [BD] Soooooeeeeee!

A good pig. One shot with my M4, Nosler 55. Hickory smoked and fed to unsuspecting bed-wetters at my company picnic.

MURDERERS!!!!!

I know a guy that was out plinking in the desert and shot a jackrabbit broadside with a 55gr HP. The entrance wound side looked normal, but the exit wound side blew most of the meat away. He said that he really felt bad about killing it so I dropped the murder charges.

Countless groundhogs have ended their digging hoof-sized holes in the pastures near my house due to 50gr Ballistic Silvertips.  They actually making a popping noise that is audible if shot from 300+ yards.  Cleaning the bodies up is a bitch, as most of the internals are sprayed across the ground.

Deer with 240gr SP .300 Whisper.  Knock-down was quite impressive, not exactly .30-06, but very near .308 termination.  Deer gets hit, jumps and hits the ground.  Bullet normally expands just a tad and ends up on the opposite side of the chest cavity.  These are subsonic loads I use with my suppressed AR.

"Do what you will,
just leave me the hell out of it."

I've shot rabbits, feral hogs, a rooster (don't ask), coyotes, one big rat, at a wild dog (who later fell to a Rem700 30-06) and I shot a turtle as well with it once. The turtle was about 10yds out and about 6" under the water. The water exploded about 10ft up in the air and when it all settled there were guts scattered about 10ft up in the overhanging tree. After the mud settled and you could see the turtle it looked like a shark had came and taken a bite out of it.

Rabbits just explode and rats vaporize.

There's more sport in going after the wily woodchuck when they're young & nimble...say just a couple of months old...

As Vector shows, the .223 is beastly on Ground pigs.  I have shot many that look like they stepped on a land mine.  Pretty devastating.

I was asked by a friend to put his old mule (male, full grown, 800 to 900 lbs) down (no kidding) about a year ago.  I had my older PWA shorty with a mag of CorBon Ballistic Tips in my vehicle.  After several requests and clearing the barnyard and backyard of all of the kids, I did the favor.  One (1) round, center of the head, about 2 inches about the line of the eyes from about 30 feet.  Instant death.  Not a pleasant chore, but one that has to be done to prevent further suffering some times with farm animals.

The only critter that I've shot with my AR was a liberal. At least I guess he was a liberal. He was a socialist at the very least cause he was trying to take my truck. I guess those socialist think that everything belongs to everybody and anyone can use whatever they want whenever they want to. So I hit him in the arm and it ripped off most of his tricep. He was screaming so loud that it woke up some of my neighbors. He ended up living but I still haven't heard anything outta him. The really suck-ass part of the whole deal was that the bullit, after going through his arm, sort of lengthways, hit my truck's dash and ripped up some of the plastic. It costed me about $175 to get it fixed. The insurance wouldn't pay for it cause I shot it. Oh well. I'll see if I can get some photos of the guys arm, if they put them in the police report.

Texas is cool, if someone is trying to steel your vehicle at night you can shoot them.
