Jean Bugatti with the Bugatti Royale 'Esders' Roadster, 1932. (metacolor.org)

The 1928 to 1931 models even had a 14.7l engine.
And a staggering consumption of 37 liters of fuel per hour...

Haha a Roadster the size of a 3/4 ton pickup.

I would love to have lived in those days.

Sweet looking car. How is it on parallel parking?
Link Posted: 6/30/2015 8:33:25 PM EDT
Look at that wheelbase.

Tiny Elvis says, "Look at that car. That car is huge!"
Link Posted: 6/30/2015 8:42:55 PM EDT
only about 15 Royales were made.

they used truck tires, by the way.

Something is fucky with the pixels around his head and the lack of a shadow under his raised foot....

Superimposed, probably, but is it to scale or is the car made to look that much bigger? Or was he tiny?

GD should appreciate this:

Jean Bugatti was just 30 when he died in a freak auto accident in 1939; he veered into a tree to avoid a drunken bicyclist who had sneaked onto a road where he was testing one of this company’s race cars – the Type 57 C that had just won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The auto company, and his father, company founder Ettore Bugatti, never recovered from the loss.

You realize that even some of today's economy cars are faster and safer than that, right?
Link Posted: 6/30/2015 10:59:40 PM EDT
And no power steering!  Bet you got quite a workout wrestling that steering wheel, esp at slow speeds. . . .

For the life of me I cannot figure out why some pics on ARF show and others do not

Two different poster's pics are not showing in two different browsers. If I turn off ghostery and reload the page they are still not working.

Yeah, on the sticker for the 2500's, they show N/A as the estimated MPG.

Thinking about getting a Power Wagon. I'm budgeting for 10 MPG (3-5 off-road) @ $5.00/gallon.

Fully loaded 4.5 tons. 10,000 lbs towing capacity

6.4 liter Hemi; 410 hp; 429 ft-lbs. torque

Comfortable as hell.

Guess it didn't corner to well though.

I think it's kind of an optical illusion, look at the size of the door handle to the height of Jean. He's probably very short.

Really cool car though, it's huge either way.
