Grass? Trees budding?

It's been so long.......I can't remember. I was outside for work in a cold rain yesterday. Froze my ass off with a coat and hat on.

I bet I won't mow for at least another month yet.

My brother out east of Pittsburgh called me and we were talking. He just mowed for the fist time this past week. We're not even close. Still snow in the woods in a very few places.

My little clementine tree just finished blossoming. I'm hoping I get some good clementines this summer.

The pear trees, dogwoods, and azaleas just finished up too. I love spring!

This past winter (and a cool spring so far) has even hit yard sales hard. Any other year I would be hitting the Friday morning sales right now (and there would be plenty of them)  instead of sitting here typing this. Nothing in town this morning and tomorrow norning in NOVA does not look much better.

Yup. Usually it's early March for the pears and dogwoods, and azaleas about mid March. This year it was late March before the blossoms even started. The camellias had a horrible season, too.

I'm worried about peach season, and whether that will be pushed back and/or be a scant season this year. I hope not, since I have been looking forward to making peach jelly!

Same here. Neighbors have been going all anal mowing their grass, tulips are up, trees starting to green... I'm actually starting to believe we've turned the corner.

My peach tree hasn't bloomed yet so it should be a good year.

Did you have hard frosts while in bloom?

Yup. And the bloom was negligible at best.

There was STILL some snow left in the parking lot at a big store in Tawas yesterday.

Mushrooms will be late if they sprout at all.

Winter storm warnings for the central U.P. this morning eh.

But don't move here it is full of crazies and animals that will kill you.

When I lived in Marquette - 1979 - we still had snow on campus at NMU on the 27th of May.

There was still chunks of ice fkoating in Lake Superior - we dove in from the rocks at Preque Isle that day just to say we did.

It took three weeks for my dick to poke back out.

I've already cut my grass twice.  Fuck.  My gray car has a yellowish tint from all the pollen on it currently.  I'm considering ventilating my face with an icepick in order to bypass my sinuses.

I heard a report that some of the wineries near Lake Erie in Ohio have been hit hard by this winter.  Some of them may have lost all of their vines.
