Han Solo's Blastech DL-44 is my favorite.
I had my Grandmother buy me one of the Kenner electric toy version in or about 1978. I remember it was 7.99 at a TG&Y I took it home and painted the flash suppressor silver like in the movie with some oil based model paints. Ah, to be young again... |

From any sci-fi movie would definatly have to be the pulse rifle from aliens, but from Star Wars in specific, I would have to say that I like the standard Light repeating blaster rifle (E11) with a heavy blaster pistol(Hans pistol) as backup.
Give it all up for a lightsaber though.... Chris |
+2 Also the attack rifles from Space: Above and Beyond PPG Rifles from Babylon 5 |
Zoe's "mare's leg" in Firefly. Nice thing is, I could actually buy one! (if I had $3k lying around)
+1 on the lightsaber. The E11 would be nice. I'm sure I'd have a better hit ratio than Stormtroopers...if they didn't have those stupid helmets, unfolded the stocks & used the sights they might actually hit something. |
Phaser from Star Trek and the shoulder fire version as well.
And a dust buster to get rid of the evidence. |
What about "Vera", Jaynes favorite? If I remember she's just a pimped out Saiga shotgun so once the ban sunsets it wouldn't be too hard to copy her. A FGMP15 from the old paper & dice SciFi role playing game "Traveller" would be nice. Anti grav recoil reduction, fusion gun.......directed sunlight! Or a Gauss rifle from the same game. Shoulder fired magnetic linear accellerator firing hollow pointed needles with an armor penetrating core. No muzzle flash, no noise other than a slight hum, little to no recoil. |

Give me Kirk's little "cricket" phaser. The ultimate CCW weapon. The crossbow blaster from Star Wars was kinda neat too.
I like the zat'nickitels from Stargate SG-1. But pulse pistols and my fatehr enjoys the PPG from Babylon 5
Han Solo's Broomhandle based blaster. One of the reasons I still want a Mauser Broomhandle.
What about the shoulder mounted laser blaster from Predator. That would be cool.
THat's part of the reason I bought my broomhandles .. if it's the favorite gun of Churchill, the Kaiser AND Han Solo, it's got to be pretty cool! |
Aliens Pulse rifle, or Equilibrium's Grammaton Cleric heavily modified Beretta pistol.
The Martian guns from "Mars Attacks". Something quite satisfying about shooting someone and see them turn into a green skeleton.
I dig the Broomhandle. |
Yep, the M42 Pulse Rifle... fires 10mm explosive tip light armor peircing caseless with over and under pump action 20mm grenade launchers. W00T!!! |
I always liked the bullet hoses from Starship Troopers
- BUCC_Guy |
I loved those fucking gunshug.gif |
+1 on the Tetra Grammaton Cleric's sidearm + the Gun Kata training to go with them |
Well ether the Pistiols from "The One" that shoots HE rnds or a laser pistol from the 007 movie in space
Farscape: pulse pistol/rifle of the peacekeepers.... Winona(sp)
Aliens II: Pulse rifle, the shizznit!! Also, the Squad weapon carrried by the hispanic girl and the large marine, looked like tricked out MG42's. |
no "phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range" answer?
from star wars it'd be han's pistol other good ones the slug thrower prototype the federation had in that one DS9 episode, with or without the transporter attachment as it was cool either way the later phaser rifles the blade runner handgun the pulse rifles and smart guns from aliens |
Hell yes! Best movie gun ever. Squad fire support at its finest! |
I think they were M60s actually The drone guns were MG42s |
How bout the deadly remote control they used to fire at people on the original Star Trek TV series(phaser?)?
Those were pretty funky. I also really dug the Planet of the Apes rifles when I was a kid. Aliens rifles were totally trick too. Maybe someone can tell me the automatic rifle that Ahhnold was using in the original Terminator? You know the one he uses when he clears the police station? He runs outta ammo as Sara and whatshisdude drive off.. |
The aliens smart guns were .30 cals I think. I went into a long debate with some guy over this a while ago and I think it turned out to be a .30 cal.
Not to be a movie nerd, but I could CLEARLY see the MG-42/MG-3 shape in the Aliens heavy guns. Defnitely not M60s. |
I have no idea what the prop guns were for the smartguns, but the fictional guns were 10mm, both the pulse rifles and smartguns. there's a few mm length difference in the ammo but basically the same according to the Aliens Tech Manual
forgot another cool gun the handguns in 6th Day. although they do have 2 drawbacks: flames from the sides and enough over penetration to take out 2-3 people in a row |
I have no imagination....
Sean Connery in "Outland" Plain-jane pump shotgun. I may have been the only person in North America to have seen that movie. Even the projectionist walked out! AL |
BLASPHEMER!!!! It was the M41-A.... At least it was in the movie, maybe the comics or books have a newer model? Anyway that is THE ultimate Sci-Fi movie gun IMO. Complete with a badass unique sound too... |
I guess it was prob. a mg3 for the smartgun, but I knew some people that were doing a mod for halflife based on aliens and before fox shut them down they did a shit load of research. If I remember right it turned out to be something else other then what you would guess by looking at it. For some reason I remember .30 cal being what it was chambered in. It was a long time ago so maybe I am remembering it wrong. I can't even think of anything in that round that would look like that off the top of my head.

What about the rail gun that Ahnold used in that movie with Miss America (having a bad time with the brain cells right now...)?
