Like the title says - what rifles do you plan to buy that are not
AR15/AR10
AK47
FAL
M14/M1 Garand

Basically rifles that don't make up a big portion of the market.
Please list only rifles that you seriously plan to buy.
I don't want to read a thread full of "MP5" responses.

I don't have serious plans to buy anything anymore...

You are missing some big ones however...

UZI, SKS, Rem 700, Rem 870, M98 Mauser

I am always looking for a good deal but I have no immediate plans...

EDIT: I do have a MINI UZI SMG on my 12-month plan however (is that soon enough)?

Do subguns count?
If so, I'd really like to build a UMP conversion.
Also a PTR-91 (HK-91 clone), but I wouldn't be able to afford .308.
Perhaps some C&Rs (Kar98k, M44, and SMLE)

I'm considering the Remington 700 since it's been on sale for cheap cheap, but I'm not much of a bench shooter. I like movement. Also, as previously mentioned .308 is pricey.

It would be one of these:

Remington 700 in .308
H&K 94 (I had one and regret getting rid of it)
.50 of some sort (just limited by areas to shoot around here)

Okay, your list specifically said M1 Garand. So, within those parameters, I want ( and just got) a M1 Carbine. I ordered it through the CMp; and, it is a beauty. I'll have to post pics in a new thread once I get some photos of it.

Anyway, I want a cool bull-pup. PS90, FS200, or Steyr Aug would all be cool. I want something in .308 or something comparable eventually too. Oh, and I want a semi .50 BMG.

KAC PDW in 6X35mm, since they've been discussing the possibility of more civie sales from KAC I've been thinking of ways to justify purchasing one.

Does refurbishing my Remington PSS count?

It needs a new barrel, a slightly better trigger; Remington supposedly has a new trigger for their Model 700 rifles. I’m interested in it. Worth it ir not?

Maybe Sako's new Bolt action in .338 lapua

A Marlin lever action for a truck gun.

Don't know what caliber exactly, but it would have to be a handgun caliber.

Maybe .45 long colt.

I want a good .308 bolt action. And if you can count it as a "rifle" one of those semi-auto M1919s and a good crank setup with barrels in 8MM Mauser and 7.62x54R (if available.) for cheap surplus shooting.

I recall another company that made some .45-70 lever actions with some modern features, stainless, shorter barrels, new sights, etc. Would be a neat gun for walking around in the woods.

M53, Century Arms MG42 semiauto clone
MSAR Stg556 AUG type
Galil, Century Arms clone
MP40 semi-auto
M240 semi-auto (if/when)
TNW Ma-Deuce semi-auto

That ought to do it for 2008
Link Posted: 10/11/2007 10:33:10 AM EST
Some sort of Savage bolt action .308.

Also, an HK USC/UMP conversion.

my credit card is eagerly awaiting the announcement that TPD is shipping their AUG's.

i have a ton of AR's, and a few AK's. i made a deal with myself to get into 1 new platform this year to mix it up a little, and just in case...

since i've always wanted an AUG, and since the new production ones are cheap and *very* good looking, it'll fit the bill.

Steyr scout?

Maybe light synth stock 223 bolt gun
Link Posted: 10/11/2007 10:41:40 AM EST
I see no point in diverting money away from another AR.
Link Posted: 10/11/2007 10:52:03 AM EST
Eventually I'd like to buy a lever action in 45LC, just because I am already loading for that caliber, and maybe a carbine in 9mm just because it would be ralatively cheap to shoot. I am keeping my eye out for an AK-74 copy. Other than that I don't know. Really I have enough now that if I don't buy anything else for a while, I'll probably be ok.... probably...
