I had a chance to buy a Tommy-Gun at the Great Western for 800.It had a drum mag and 3 stick mags plus a few other accessories.

That one I kick myself over and over.

Also, at a Costa Mesa gun show I passed up a pair of Colt Delta Elite's in 10mm.Brand spanking new. This was in the mid-90's, for 375 each.

Grrrr.

Life isn't fair. I usally just buy them now and don't pass up good deals...

Sad thing is I had the money on both occasions [}:(]

SP89 for $900, and again for $1200 back in '93.  A conversion to a carbine would have been great.  Really pissed that ARs didn't interest me while I was on active duty, before "The Ban."

The two I regret most:

A Bushmaster 11 in CAR for $850 brand new a day before the '94 ban. Went back to the store the next day to get it and the price was suddenly $1000. I was so mad I walked out. I could kick myself twice over that one.

A S&W model 629 4-in, pinned and recessed, at a pawn shop for $320 out the door. Worked on the guy for two weeks to get down to that price. Went in on a Saturday to get it and it was gone. I almost cried.

NIB FNC paratrooper model $400 (right before Bush 89 ban)

Colt 9mm CAR-15 $329 each, NIB. (A year or so before the 94 AWB).

M1 carbines $129 each. (could have hand picked from over 250, before Klinton ban).

Many others, but these are ones where serious money could have been made.

Easy, AR-15's. I knew the ban was coming, but back then I was into cars, and I didn't think the ban would pass or last. Had I realized then, that I could have bought just receivers, I would have gotten three of them.

I missed out on everything. I was too young even during the 94 ban to do anything about it. Ive made up for it a little by getting a post-ban AR, so that way I might have at least a functional AR before any other bans surface.

1941 Johnson Carbine.......

The guy was not sure what it was worth at the time....

I offered him $500 (CDN)for it....but then thought better and told him that he could get BIG BUCKS if he sold it in the States.

Damne ethics!

Back in the early 80's, a Buddy of mine wanted me to trade my Browning shotgun for his AR-10.  A real one that was made in the early 60's and came from some African country. But I was into quail hunting back then and didn't want to get rid of my shotgun.  What a dumbass I was !!

Buying a Ruger Mini 14 for $300 new and passing on a Colt Ar for $425. Couldnt see why the Colt was worth the extra $125 at the time. Around that same time a Dan Wesson pistol pack in .357 mag. Wood presentation box with four barrels for about $250 or so.

When I was state rep. here in the CT assembly, Colt's offered to sell me (through an FFL) up to two brand new Colt Sporter HBars, each with two 20 rounders, sling, and case.

Price? $750 each. This was 1993. In my abounding wisdom, I decided it was too much money...

Last year my dealer had an Izzy FAL with a $799 price tag. I talked myself out of it while at the shop. Went back 2 days later to get it and it was gone. Last month he had a Remington 1917 Enfield in excellent shape for $330. Went to buy it the next day and it had left the store about 15 minutes before I got there.

Egyptian Hakim (8x57 semi) for $120 at gunshow..could have gotten it if I hadn't bought all that ammo & other misc crap first.
Swiss K31 straight-pull bolt action for $80.  Only had limited funds and wasn't sure of ammo situation re 7.5 Swiss so I bought the M38 Mosin-Nagant carbine for the same price.  Both had been "bubba-ized" slightly so not as much of a heartbreak.

A mint, I mean MINT, International Harvester Corporation Garand. This thing was a trip, looked like it left the factory yesterday. Gorgeous wood and perfect metal. I think it was unfired. It was from an estate sale I saw on the net. Called in my bid and it turns out I got beat. Should have put more money on that bid...
