Your thoughts on the new Niro?
They seem very reasonably priced.

Why the fuck do I have to walk like 8 miles to fetch 9 cars/SUVs when I am loading at the plant in West Point?  I mean, seriously.  I'll have cars from one side of the staging area to another.

Just bought a '17 Sportage SX turbo for the wife.  We've only put a few hundred miles on it, but it seems like a nice little SUV so far.

Is KIA lying again, about their MPG figures?

Aloha, Mark

Serious question....

for the K900....do you think it's going to be a reliable enough car to buy 5 years from now with 100k miles on the odo?
Link Posted: 3/21/2017 7:42:02 PM EST
Is the Stingers transmission going to be any good?  In house design?

I'm getting tired of cars with awesome engines and shitty transmissions
Link Posted: 3/21/2017 7:42:16 PM EST
How many cars has your dealership warranties past the 100k limit?

Kia warrantied an alternator for me with over 1000 miles past the warranty.

I sold my Kia with around 150k on it, it was in the shop less than my current Ford with 35k on it
Link Posted: 3/21/2017 7:44:51 PM EST
Wife drives an 08 Santa Fe w/ V6 - coming up on 180k, has been a great vehicle. Pondering go to KIA and replace it with 15, 16, possibly new 17 Sorento with V6 (really have a hard time buying new).  Of those choices, what do you like / would recommend to avoid?  Final loaded question - will said Sorento - treat us as good as the ol Santa Fe has?  Thanks much for any feedback.

That's not why they have a 10 year 100K mile warranty.  They have that warranty because the initial cars were complete pieces of crap and they have to have the extended warranty so people won't be afraid of getting a lemon.

Now that I've had my Kia for several years and I'm tiring of it, should I sell my Soul? How much should I sell my Soul for?

The new 8 speed in the cadenza, that for some reason they are NOT alowing hyundai to have is super smooth, it's a in house design, the stinger I don't know might be dual clutch, might be a converter, or both. Yes that is a thing, probly in house to, they don't want to fuck up like honda and mess with ZF shit

It's the electronic AWD. Same deal I'm assuming? Other than brakes and reg oil changes we haven't done anything

Why is there a 4'x4' piece of plastic bolted and screwed to the bottom of a Forte that makes changing oil a pain in the ass for the home mechanic?
Link Posted: 3/21/2017 8:18:59 PM EST
Why is the resale value complete dog shit. The kia dealer gave us the worst  offer of any dealeship on our 2012 sorento. After paying on it for 3 years on a 6 year loan, we owed more then it was worth. We traded the kia for a rav4, and will never own another kia.

Wife drives '12 soul, base/small engine, anything to look out for?  I drove it home a couple of years ago when we bought it and was very surprised that that tiny engine could get on and down the road like it did.

Will the Niro make a decent weekend woods truck?

Will it make a good 30 mile one way highway commuter car during the week?

If it's the old 1.6 I would replace the timing belt. Unless it's been done already

I took a pistol class in the area that two Hiawatha police officers attended.  Nothing related to this thread but seemed like a good idea to mention.    ETA:  They seemed like good guys too, was in 2009.

2011 Sorrento slams into gear during a downshift but only when it it is not warmed up. After a couple miles everything is fine. Only does it shortly after starting.

Dumbass question my google-fu is failing me on: the hood sensor on my 2012 sorento is not adjusted correctly, so it randomly sets off the alarm.  Is there an easy way to fix this myself other than trial and error adjustment?
