Wow,  that makes my 24" monitor look small.

I'm running mine ant 1920 x 1200...

What video card are you running?

I have it running at 1280x768 (native resolution of the monitor)

The graphics card is an ATI 9700 Radeon with 128Mb of ram.

And yes, some things look lifesize.....

Okay, Okay, I'll fess up....

The 42" as a monitor was only temporary.

Last week Monday lightning struck near our house and blew out the TV, even though it was on two ACE hardware surge protectors

The bad part is that the TV had a good picture and had always worked well for the last 5 years or so.  (bought it for $200, then)  32" Tube TV

The good part is that it now gave me a reason to upgrade!!

My wife said "we shouldn't spend $1,000 on a TV right now" (I just changed jobs) so I said "I'll think of something"

So this is what I thought of.  I really did get it for $200 though.  Then I had to spend $100.00 for the wall mount, $49.99 for the TV tuner, and $4.00 for a VGA-DVI connector.

So, for $354.00, we now have a 42" LCD TV.

Oh, and don't give me any shit about the stuff on the entertainment center...

HEAVY DUTY mount!

So, please forgive me...

that's the difference.  what he got is gigantic and freaking awesome for watching TV, but is the uber-suck for someone serious about using their computer.

1280x768?  surfing ARFCOM from 40 feet is about all that's good for.

i'm waiting to get my hands on a nice 30" - 2550x1600, now that's some usable real-estate!

My poor little home desktop would start to smoke and then melt down on attempting to live up to that screen.  Pretty sweet.

Actually, it was pretty nice for 'surfing.  I was able to kick back in the chair with the wireless keyboard and mouse.

Plus in the morning Monday, (seeing I didn't have a working TV) I let my son watch a monster truck movie on one 1/2 and I surfed ARFCOM on the other 1/2.

That was pretty cool....
