Wellesley College Students: ‘Hostility’ Is Warranted Against People Who Say Anything Offensive
The editorial staff of Wellesley College’s student newspaper recently wrote that anyone who dares utter a politically incorrect thought should be met with “hostility.”
*** “We have all said problematic claims,” the editorial reads. “Luckily most of us have been taught by our peers and mentors at Wellesley in a productive way.” If that doesn’t sound like it was ripped from a dystopian novel, what comes next is truly Orwellian: “If people are given the resources to learn and either continue to speak hate speech or refuse to adapt their beliefs, then hostility may be warranted.” In other words, if you say things some people find offensive, then there will be physical consequences. View Quote I remember Glenn Beck saying on a number of occasions, and I am paraphrasing here, that he may completely disagree with what someone says but he would defend to the death their right to say it. I emphatically agree with his sentiment but unbelievably ignorant statements like this sure don't make it easy. |

Commies have been murdering people for thought crimes for about a century.

So they are saying if what the say is offensive, they deserve to be beaten up?
i guess stickman is going to put that to the test tomorrow |

Free speech is preeminent to being an American.
These people are not Americans. They are communists |

Not my friends! |

Maybe the Khmer Rouge were onto something.
But commies eventually eat their own, so maybe not. |
|
Not really a bad thing, what they say is offensive to me so I need to go kick their asses.

Maybe we should bring back the Code Duello?

But the bottom line is that nothing has changed. Always carry and keep your head on a swivel, and be aware that certain areas of the US should be considered "non-permissive environments", as they say. |

The cultural situation in this country is galloping toward much ugliness. We are soon to live in very interesting times. ::sigh::

Rights are balanced by consequences.
You have a right to say whatever you want. Say it in the wrong place and you may get fucked up for it. I'm cool with that. I doubt these young scholars have thought it through, though. |
|
Talk is cheap, they do however resort to violence in a group, but individually, they're just pussies.
|
|
Seems like some dumb shit to say. Doesn't seem much smarter to portray a contingent statement as an absolute to more effectively foment anger. But whatever.

I would get propositioned constantly, groped frequently whenever we were out. It was very good for my ego. It was also a lesson in what a real man does to women. Lots of them had skinny, poetry reading boyfriends (hipsters, but before hipsters were a thing). I was no muscle bound Marine, but I was a college athlete, and I think half of them would have blown me while their boyfriends whimpered in the corner. |

Hey, guess what snowflakes: hostility is also warranted towards people trying to silence political speech with violence.

It's going to be a bitch when they find out that in the real world that knife cuts both ways.

They can be hostile, and I can tell them to go fuck themselves. If they make it physical we'll find out who's better trained, armed, and prepared. |

Lol, so that cuts both ways, right? It's not a one way street or anything...

There is a simple solution to this problem. Conservatives just need to start getting offended more often. The left has claimed ownership of victim status and being offended, but it's only that way because we remain silent when they offend us.
So start punching communists in the face whenever they make themselves known. If punching a Nazi in the face is justified because that ideology killed 30m people, then punching a communist in the face is twice as justified because Stalin killed far more (and there was Mao, and Pol Pot, etc.). Somehow communisms has remained relevant--and extremely attractive to young retards--despite it being the worst killer of innocents in history, wherever it was tried. We should be angry, we should be very angry with these punks. |
|
Yes, now try that in the real world and let me know how it works out for you.
