Bama, I want to hear a story about you in a foot race, some fence jumping, avoiding watch dogs, a tackle and all the while with that helicopter search beam right on you.

Fuck that, if there is a chopper overhead (which we don't have here) I'm not chasing them on foot.

Let the stupid fuckers run I'll catch up to 'em in a block or two when their gasping for air.

Were you going to notify him, or cite him? Just curious. Never had it happen, wasn't sure of SOP.

In my previous despicable life of crime I did it on foot once. Parked my car in Albany, OR and cut across the street in the middle of the block when I heard the Meter Maids wrapped out Cushman headed down the street to nail the jaywalker. I cut through the service bays of the old Ford garage, around the corner and through Grays Furniture (had to dodge a couple salesman in there too) and back out onto the street. Saw her driving slow around the block once then she gave up and went back to collecting revenue the easy way.

Well just make sure you pull over 2 for your quota on your next shift

Stay safe.

Fix it ticket. Put some red tape on it within 72 hours the ticket goes away. He was probably drunk or something else was going on.

Do fix-it tickets require court or any kind of apperance? I've never received one.

A couple of friends (so I heard) ditched a cop in the desert outiside Henderson. They killed the lights and remembered a crucial obstacle in the "road"-an abandoned freezer laying pretty much across the whole road. Skated around it, but the dust mixed with the highbeams on the cruiser made it invisible...

No helicopters. But do you remember those shoes that would light up with every step? Not the best thing to wear while running from the popo.

"WTF how is this cop able to follow me in the dark!?!"

In my previous cop job, a guy tried that with a brand new mustang gt, rolled it down an embankment. Totaled, insurance company would not pay. Ha ha.

ETA: He then tried to sue me the and the department for chasing him. Case dismissed.

The officer who I'm pretty sure I was "running" from (I put running in quotes, because one turn and then a roll hardly constitutes stellar driving OR effective running) is the one that gave me a lift to the hospital to check on my girlfriends hand full o' glass. She was also nice enough to not mention she'd tagged me for 10 over, or that I was a fucking idiot teenager.

remember it was a tail light (rear of vehicle)

I when down that road (subdivision once in the late 70's) , popo had to go all the way down the block to turn around (concrete median)
we took a walk throught the subdivision. Cop saw me walking and stomped it, I just looked at him and didn't run (act normal, wave him by). He figured I mustn't be the guy he wanted.

Four citations, six vehicle stops, one dui, one burglary in progress call (not a burglary, just a crazy/drunk lady), one response with fire call. Not slow but no overly busy.
At least they are not some crazy female and drunk male domestic disturbance call, you'll survive to post another day on ARFCOM, LOL

Many years ago an acquaintance related a clever method for evading the long arm of the law.

Seems he was exceeding the posted speed limit by a wide margin and saw a police car pass by, in the opposite direction. Knowing the cop would turn and chase him, he turned in to a side road and killed the lights. One of his front marker lights was burned out and he knew it would make the car easy to ID. He didn't want to sit and hide for the rest of the night, so he devised a plan to get home without getting fingered.

So what does he do? Gets out and removes the other marker light bulb. Pulls back onto the highway at a stately pace and makes his getaway. Criminal mastermind, I tell ya.

This one time in high school while driving a bit excessive I passed the county 5-0...ducked into my subdivision...turned onto my street & pushed the button on our new garage door opener...next thing i heard was the cruiser going by at at high rate of speed.
