In before the Henry fan boys scream about those not being Henry rifles.

Looks cool but now I really want pistol caliber lever guns with loading gates from these guys!!!

You're six months late.

They feel nice.

.223 Rem, .243 Win, and .308 Win lever action rifles. Neat.

Looks like the BLR.

News to me.

I like the idea of another 308 lever gun option.
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 4:36:45 PM EST
That could be fun in 300blk with a threaded barrel.

They are very nice guns. Came out late spring. Had a chance to shoot the .308. Very accurate and recoil is not bad at all. I have a BLR as well, and while I'd still pick the Browning, it's close. Friend paid ~650 otd for it.

Eta: has detachable mag just like the BLR

It could be me, or the photography, but the rifle on the bottom (at least) does not appear to have been contoured maintain the stock profile in fitting the recoil pad.
Link Posted: 12/17/2016 4:50:10 PM EST
Interesting. The only thing I'd say is that you can pick up a used BLR for a lot less.

I don't think they are "gear drive" however we have sold a ton but they go out so fast I have never actually unboxed one fully to inspect it

I thought the same thing but then I pulled up some pics of the Browning BLR.
First thing I was looking for..... the BLR has the trigger group as part of the lever, i.e. it moves down and out of position when the lever is operated (operationally). The Henry does not have that feature. The trigger assembly is separate from the lever function like a "92, '94 etc. This likely is the reason that the shooters liked the trigger as well as they did.

I would be in the market for one at around $650-$750 IF I COULD GET IT in...........358 Winchester............. Henry, ya listenin....... I'm talkin one helluva woods gun.

Beats the pants off what competition? The BL22? Not even close. The Marlin 39? Still no....

What it does do is offer a decent gun at a decent price. Nothing more...they are cheaply made, and the price reflects that. I have had a couple, and they have quickly gone down the road. Their centerfire levers....just no.

As for the single shot, they are now the only game in town. NEF no longer makes single shot rifles.

I think the Freedom Group killed H&R/NEF.

I'd rather see Henry build an 1885 style single shot.

I think it looks AWESOME.

I'll bet it balances and throws nicely.

The video reviews have been very complimentary of its accuracy. Most of the guys shooting it are either bolt or auto guys -- a lever befuddles 'em.

Guns don't win matches people do.

I have a pump .22 and as far as quality goes there is no comparison with my b92.

M'yep, I had a thread about the .308 a few months ago as well.

Although when I posted about it the .308 had no option for sights, it was just drilled/tapped for a scope.
