Just found this on Free Rep.
Well, here we go

The Federal Communications Commission has approved the use of the "F" word for use on any TV show or radio program, ANYTIME DAY OR NIGHT!

The FCC said the word can be used whenever desired except in sexual situations!

>>That means that real soon you will be watching a sit-com on TV, or news, or any drama or movie-ANY PROGRAM-and it*s ok! Hollywood is rejoicing!

>>Soon, when you are driving your kids to school you will be listening to a song which makes extensive use of the word.

>>Shock jocks such as Howard Stern are now free to use any language, no matter how vile and repugnant, on their radio shows. And use it they will.

>>No longer will movies shown on TV have to be edited because of language.

Send your letter to your Congressman, Senators and members of the FCC.

Let them know that you want this stopped-NOW!

Please send your letter now. And please forward this letter to your email list asking them to get involved.

If it isn*t stopped now, in a few months verbal pornography will rule the airways!

Please act today. Help us get 1,000,000 email letters to members of Congress, Senators and FCC Commissioners.

Thanks for getting involved!

Donald E. Wildmon
Founder and Chairman
American Family Association

I think Wildmon is really reaching on this one. In October, the FCC ruled that U2's Bono did not violate the federal indecency laws by using the word "fucking" as an adjective during a live broadcast of the Golden Globe awards earlier in the year. In the FCC decision (you can look it up yourself), the FCC itself used the word "fuck" in various forms, which is kind of funny to me. At any rate, simply because the FCC ruled that this particular instance did not violate the law does not give TV, radio and print media free reign to start cussing like, well, me.

Furthermore, this is not "news" really. The FCC decision was handed down around the 7th of October. The decision was in response to complaints from an activist group, who were no doubt doing it "for the children."

Seriously though. No one makes you watch TV or listen to the radio.

I learned while enlisted that fuck can be a verb, a noun and an adjective.

Why shouldn't we be bathed with such a versatile word each and every day.

I'm fucking for it.

And to think, I once got severely castigated for removing the 'f word' from a topic title.

I'm against it.

Not because I object to the word, but because I like it too much to see it to lose all impact.

The song "Who Are You?" by The Who has had the F-word in it for many years. There are two versions, however, and the radio stations can pick the one they want. Our local rock station in Tampa (103.5) chooses the one with the F-word.

I hope it is not true. It is correct that nobody makes us watch TV, but if you have children as I do you (hopefully) would not want them exposed to that type of language.

before some of you get your panties all in a bunch over this..............

it's apparent this "Rev." Donald Wildmon, some taliban wannabe, with his own agenda, got his little panties all in a bunch over this, that he lied and made up this "alert" in saying that the word fuck could be used in every program, commercial etc... probably to get everybody's else panties all in a bunch.....hmmmmm a 'christian reverend" making things up. must be following the example of the "bible"

I think this is good. Funny thing is you guys usually are chomping at the bit over government intrusion, but in this case you support it? Last time I checked radio and TV were mediums of expression, and that the first amendment guarantees freedom of expression. If you dont want your kids to watch such things, DON'T LET THEM.

Well years ago they decided to show nudity but all I seen was the guy from NYPD Blues ass!

I wonder how long the F word has been around. They use it in WW2 movies but did people really use it back then?

Hopefully that will be the end of that ridiculous word "Frig". When you mean fuck, say fuck.

The original purpose of the FCC was not censorship anyway...but to regulate broadcast frequencies.

If you dont like what you see or hear, change the channel. I do.
