I've been using the YurBuds for a couple years now.  No idea which ones.  They last a year or so then shit out on me with cutting out the sound.  Kind of getting tired of replacing them every 9-12 months.  I'm not sure there's a better alternative or if any of the Bluetooth sets are worth a damn, but anyone using something that works and works well?  I don't mind paying up if they're going to be a decent piece of hardware.  The criteria is they have to last and be somewhat comfortable.  I primarily weightlift, so they also need to stay put in my ears.

What's pumping out the tunes for you guys?

A cheap Sansa with iFrogz buds purchased at Wal Mart for around $10.

Small and compact, sound is good, and if they do get broken I'm not out any money.  I run the cord underneath my t-shirt and it never gets in the way.

Yarbuds, I think JBL bought them. So they probably suck now.

I have some super edition ones. They have lasted a long time.

I run, so maybe my opinion doesn't count. But, I really like my JayBird X2's. I've had them for almost two years and they've only shutdown on me once. To their credit, it was raining like hell on a 26 mile run. I dried them out, and they've been great since.

I use Bose.
Expensive but the sound quality and they stay put in the ear.
Even when running around shooting hoops for exercise or the treadmill they don't move nor require adjustment.
They even have the noise cancelling ones.
Try to find a Bose outlet store which sell the refurbished Bose as they tend to 1/2 the price.

Wife bought Bose for my son.  He didnt want them, she gave them to me.  HOLEEEE FUCKK!   Best ive heard and i have klipsch and pricey JBL ones,  the $100 Bose ones blow the others away, best bass i've heard for buds.   Sounds almost as good as the over ear headphones.

I had a set of these and they wouldn't stay in my ears while running.  Picked up a pair of Beats 3 and love them.

Jaybirds.  Don't recall the name of the model, blue buds maybe, I'm too lazy to get up and go check right now but they've got the little wings you can add to help keep them in.  They're Bluetooth, have an 8-ish hour battery life from a full charge and don't constantly get ripped out in the gym like the wired Beats I previously used did.  I've had them about 2 years I think and unless I managed to physically yank them out, they have yet to just fall out on their own.  They've been in rain, sauna's, steam rooms, gym's, planes, hot, cold and on multiple continents and have yet to fail me.  So all-in-all I'd say they were well worth the money I spent on them.

I got lucky with my Jabra Rox but when they die, I'm going to switch to Jaybirds.  I use a huge metal playlist on Spotify set to shuffle to get me through my workouts.  In fact, I am about to head over to the gym.

I've been through 7 pairs of Jaybirds in ~3 years. I actually paid for a second pair to make sure I always had a pair while the others were in transit for warranty replacement. I just got my last replacement set last week. Jaybird now says that they won't honor their warranty with me anymore. I run about 30 miles a week and they usually last about 6 months despite Jaybird's claims that they are sweat resistant.

I started with Bluebuds x, went to x2's, and just got the freedoms.  None of them are sweat resistant as Jaybird claims.  Great sound and battery life until they crap out though....

This is what I want to hear. Are any of these sets willing to stand up to a few years worth of abuse? I want a pair so I can avoid buying them every 6-12 months.  Or is that pretty much the impossible?

A lot of people make fun of the Beats, but one of my friends told me the new ones get insane play time out of them.  IIRC, the Beats Solo 3 Wireless have a 40 hour battery life whereas my Jabra Rox have a 5 hour battery life, and even that is pushing it. <img src=http://www.ar15.com/images/smilies/icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

jaybirds are tits, if you want to spend for high end battery life and sound...here's a link to a deal on x2's
X2s

My daily beaters are Samsungs though...I'm telling you I trash them out, wear them in summer heat and they keep going. $30, minimal app support.

I have an android but use iphone ear buds - seem to sound ok.

I have one of those bluetooth ones you wear around your neck and the buds are on spring retracts - forget the name brand but it's ok... i just always forget to charge it... and it looks kinda ghey...

Iphone buds work well for me.  but sweat too much and they fall the fuck out.

Friend at the gym just got a pair of The gripped fitness headphones and I'm hoping for a set for Christmas. They have an ear bud set too might be worth checking out.

The battery life is awesome and the Apple W1 chip works perfect with my iPhone. Much better than bluetooth.

Some people say the sound sucks but I'm not an audiophile and it's hard for me to notice. In the settings I set it to reduced bass and sounds good to me.

Plantronics backbeats. $90ish Had them a year now. I use them for the gym. Lifting, running, etc. Love them, they stay in my ear! My only complaint is the strap behind the back sticks out, but it's a minor annoyance.

I don't need audiophile quality to work out in the gym, but I do need something to drown out that horrible Sirius XM station that they always leave the house system on.  For example, "I'm Every Woman" by Whitney Houston was playing the other night and one of the guys in the gym was complaining that it was hard to get motivated to work out.  I was listening to "Roots Bloody Roots" by Sepultura, so I was good to go for squatting.

I also use these. Good battery life. One charge gets me through the week. Cardio, sprints, rowers, ropes, Jacobs ladder, no matter what I do, they stay in.

My issue is I don't get a good seal so the low end bass isn't there but they're loud enough.

+1 I use my x2's for everything. Physical work, working out, working outside, and riding motorcycles (tricky to keep in place but when my helmet is on I can't even tell they are there)  they have been great, 8-10 hour battery......I can get around 30ft of range in the gym which is nice because I leave my phone in my backpack. A few weeks ago I was working outside in the snow....ran the headphones for 7 hours straight with no issues while running a chainsaw the entire time. I have been extremely impressed.

Monster.  The "athlete's ear bud" version.  Sound great, and I can't believe how long they've held up.
