Well, the ubiquitus "nslookup" command works well. "dig" is a better tool, but a bit more cryptic to begin with. If you are on windoze and none of these are available (probably not) then you can run telnet and see if it reports the IP address it's connecting to.
Last but not least, you can try a search engine to see if you can find one of the dns resolving pages out there. Keep in mind that many larger sites are farms of webservers, sometimes spread out over the country, so the IP may only be one of many for a site. I trust this is going to be put to useful and not useless activities... |

Is there an easier way than looking it up through a search or something? I'd like to know how to do it to, though I don't know why. Maybe I could change my list of favorites and put them in numerical order [%|]

Infobear has a web interface to NSlookup. Onthe other hand, the easiest way for a novice Windows user to lookup and IP address is to run a traceroute.
Click the start button. Click on "run" In the box that pops up, type "tracert As part of the trace, it'll do a DNS lookup of the target. Hit Ctrl-C once you've seen what you need to to abort the trace. |

Ping the url, windows will report the IP address.

The simplest way is to ping it.
On a command line (in Windows, Linux, Unix, etc.): ping The response will include the IP address. |
