I'm loading up a bunch of stripper clips right now so it made me wonder. How many mags or stripper clips (loaded and otherwise) do you keep around/in storage/ ready whatever?

ETA: pics of this would make good pron!

What, you DON'T keep all your ammo loaded in mags?

After loading the magazines for my AK, I swore to buy so many magazines that I'd only have to load them once in my entire life and then throw them away when I emptied them. Man, my thumb was sore!

Only if you feel like contributing to the site. It isn't required that you become a Team Member, but you are always welcom.

I feel like I should. This site has been great and I've learned a helluva lot. Plus I want a damn avatar.

I voted as to what the poll asked - "loaded magazines". I have just a few more that could be loaded quickly from stripper clips if it looked like they might be needed.

well over 100 for the AR-15s
35 for the FAL
42 for the AKs
36 for the UZI
14 for the CETME
10 for the Glock
12 for the 1911s
but only 5 for the AR-10

And I'm looking for more mags all the time (I remember '94-'04 very well).

OK, I'll admit it, I have a problem.

I'm trying to stock up on stripper clips and ammo but can't seem to stop shooting it long enough to build up any. I bought 200 7.62 X 39 rounds tonight and I give them 72 hours at the absolute most. No gun store around here can get more than about a case right now and they won't sell more than ten boxes to any one person, so they can try to keep everyone happy. It sucks or I'd buy at least a case a week. If I run into good deals on other mags like AR mags I'll buy them even though I don't have an AR. When I get one someday I'll be a little more ready. Now If I can get my stolen stuff back from my dad I will be set.

500th post! lol

I want to be like Paul. I currently have 18 or so USGI 30 rounders for my ARs, 3 high caps for my Para-Ord P14, 5 ten rounders for my CZ-40b, and 2 mags for my singl stack 1911.

I need to buy some mags...

Love to, if my wife couldn't track it. She doesn't mind knowing that I have the stuff, she just doesn't want to know I paid for it. Plus, on a case of ammo, what is shipping? I can get em for a bill out the door here when I can get em.

Why DONT you keep your mags loaded??? I mean you can keep a few unloaded if you want to specialty load them with snap caps for training or whatever, but most mags should be loaded if you have the ammo. If your using them for an investment and havent opened the pack ok I understand, but for anything else why not?

Storing loaded mags doesn't weaken the spring its the constant use of mags that do.

Right now I have every mag I own loaded

Who said they don't keep their mags loaded. Only one I have not loaded is a broke one I bought tonight. Damn stripper clips, 13 bucks for a bag of 20. Thieving fuckers.

Ammoman has 7.62 loaded on clips already, cheaper that way and you have all the clips after you empty them.

Mags for this thing are $90 each. I only have three.

5 for the USP 45 and the Benelli M1 only holds 5 shells.

Not counting bolt action rifles that use mags SMLEs etc, or stripper clip feed rifles or Garands or my Rem 742, I average 5.25 mags per rifle, with the lowest being 2 mags and the highest 16.

Handguns not counting speed loaders I average 2.4 mags per, with a low of 1 and a high of 4mags per pistol for 2 different guns

I'm in the market for mags and ammo at the moment. I'm hoping to hit 500/10 for all my toys, at least 500 rounds and 10 mags per gun, with stripper feed rifles enough stripper clips for the 500 rounds.

Just call me GREEDY.

I keep about ten mags per weapon as a rule - so yes, I have under 100 magazines............all field tested - its POINTLESS to be a mag whore if you dont even know if you mags all function properly - mine are all tested and marked - every time I shoot I check for malfunctions - but I haven't had a gun screw up in a LONG LONG time.......

Regardless of whether you have one magazine or one hundred - CHECK your shit to make sure it works! For AR15 magazines - Magpul followers and Wolff magazine springs are awesome.
