Non Citizen Vote

I have lost the link from the Drudge Report from a couple of days ago but I am wondering why we are even having this vote. I know a hand full  of municipalities are going to vote on it from Maine to California. This is one one of the most intrinsic rights of the Citizen. Yet it seems up for grabs. If this becomes the norm we have lost our democracy.

I challenge someone to justify a non-citizen the right to vote. If this is a re-post I apologize. I did not see it on a search.
Edit: Found the link.

For myself I can not give you an answer-
So evaluate-
Who benefits if these non citizen are allowed to vote?
Who is backing such an effort?
I don't know all the answers but I think only those desiring political power benefit- either or both parties, doesn't matter really.

It takes us one step forward to making citizenship a non-sequiter. It also takes us one step further to a one-world, every-one's voice matters type of situation.

That should be common sense. But gosh-darn we dont want to dis-enfranchise anyone. Just like we dont want anyone that votes to have to have an ID.

It's completely illegal for a non-citizen to vote - or to have to prove that you're a citizen.

That's federal case laws.

I blame Bush.

It is a brave new world my friend; and not a good one.

This election will prove if our electorate is capable of sustaining our great nation. If we lose this we are DONE!

We seriously need capital punishment for anyone attempting to corrupt an election.  No ID required to vote, but mark all votes with a fingerprint/thumbprint.  Find two of the same fingerprints on two different ballots, find yourself on the end of a rope.  Vote as a non-citizen, hang.  Vote as a felon, hang.  Register some dead guy to vote, hang.  Bribe anyone to vote,  hang.

The Arfcom Constitutional scholars in the other thread on this topic argued that it's not unconstitutional for states and municipalities to pass these laws.

I just passed my citizenship interview last week.  Why am I going through this process if they are going to let non-citizens vote?

Kind of makes you wonder why anyone would want to go to the trouble of being a citizen doesn't it?

How do you propose putting a stop to it?

The issue at hand is some what un-related, but making a picture ID a requirement would go a long way to stopping voter fraud. That is a start.

What does it mean to be a citizen of a country?

Hell............we don't even have a border that means much of anything (at least not one, that OUR Government, is willing to enforce).

So..........what's new?

I should not read these article.   Reading shit like this is inconsistent with good mental hygiene practices, impairs my impulse control, makes me eat Bufferin.
