We are a moral and law abiding group on people wouldn't most agree? Then why is it now some of are openly acccepting homsexuallity on this board? This is a legitimate question and we are supposed to be of the highest moral fiber in the country. The gun owner is the most moral and law abiding citizens we have in this land , PERIOD! But now we express tolerance for an immoral life style ,I can't believe what I read on that two daddies thread.

Which "standard" set of morals are you picking up for use in this case?

Because we are also a tolerant group that doesn't want other people's values imposed on us, and therefore we don't seek to impose our values on others?

I don't think homosexuality is immoral.

Are we 'accepting' it or 'excepting' it. Two different meanings, man. And tolerating something is not liking it or approving of it.

We seem to be a moral group...until an anti dies and then some of us turn into a pack of laughing hyenas.

We are a moral and law abiding group on people wouldn't most agree? We are. We also have the sense to know that only God judges people. Hetero or homo, I don't give a shit what people do in private but I don't need to hear about 2 daddys. I also couldn't give a damn less hearing about a field trip to the Lodge in DFW. -hanko

I agree with Prof Evil, which standard are you using?? Alot of people except abortion, while others don't. The fact is wee as a group have a common bond. That bond is the AR15 rifle and the 2nd Amendment. Everything else is secondary IMHO. SGtar15

(pausing from reaching into the laundry basket full of kittens resting next to my barc-o-lounger) Who gives a fuck if someone wants to be a homo? It's a free country ain't it? Just try and stop all those gay thoughts racing through your mind all day from upsetting you too much and you'll be OK. (back to watching cheerleader porn and snapping necks)

personally I find the insinuations in your 'morals' to be immoral.

Well, as I said on that thread, I consider homosexual behavior to be sinful and immoral and wrong. If, however, you mean that by being civil to others we are showing "tolerance", I disagree. I do not "tolerate" homosexuality. But there is no call for me being rude on a thread on an internet discussion towards someone that just wants to discuss an issue. As I said before, I can disagree without being disagreeable.

Who are you referring to as "We". Many gun owners make the mistake of believing that anyone who participates in this hobby, must share all their beliefs. That's a big mistake. Don't confuse being a firearms enthusiast and believer in freedom with being a conservative ('cause I'm not one). As far as the law abiding part, ever read any of the "how fast have you driven?" posts?
Then why is it now some of are openly excepting homsexuallity on this board?
View Quote
Because some of us believe it's a genetic thing, and really no big deal. I don't understand what drives homosexuals or other mechanisims at work, but that doesn't obligate me to "burn the witch".
The gun owner is the most moral and law abiding citizens we have in this land , PERIOD!

I doubt it. Witness the holes in just about everything at my local public range.
But now we express tolerance for an immoral life style.

There are many who would disagree and term your behavior as antisocial and in need of a remedy, simply by the fact that you are a gun owner. Isn't it nice that we live in a country where others' opinions of us don't matter.

There are a lot of libertarians around here, myself included. I take the attitude that I don't care what people do, so long as it doesnt hurt me. I am not going to tell people what they can and can't do behind closed doors.
Link Posted: 6/17/2003 12:38:43 PM EDT
right is what i want to do. wrong is what you can stop me from doing. beyond that, any sense of 'natural rights' and the rules that bind them (aka morality) is liberal tripe. your left-leaning belief that a set of standards can be applied and adhered to across the spectrum of society is laughable. god is good, god is great - but i don't think he gives a f*ck what i do with my dick.

Wow from reading some of your replies I have seriously misjudged some of you and can now see why the homo's in this country feel it's ok to sit in a public park and french kiss their boyfriends infront of a bunch of 6 year olds playing in that park. By your posts you are condoning such actions and promoting this abhorrent behavior. I suspect that there a lot more of the members here who feel as I do then are currently posting on this thread,we'll see how it ends up. Until then I will stand alone against the "tolerant" here because a guy fucking another guy is just wrong and you who have condoned it know it. You all better attend one of those gay pride parades in your town and show your support or "tolerance".

Tolerance just means that we don't kill them. Acceptance is totally different.
Link Posted: 6/17/2003 12:52:49 PM EDT
There is a difference between condoning behavior and tolerating it. I tolerate it because I fear the effects of banning behavior more than I fear the effects of behavior itself. You want to force your views of right and wrong on others. Just like the liberal democrats who want to take your guns because they think you don't need them.

Hahahahahaha! JC was probably gay. Think about it. Hung out exclusively with 12 men and a whore. Lived with his Mother. Preached non-violence. You Xtians are a hoot. Love the show....keep talking.

jrzy, I think you're getting your panties in WAY too tight a wad. Lumping everyone who doesn't feel like you do in with homosexuals themselves is quite... well... liberal logic. Better get your flame suit on, cuz it's going to get hot. I do not CARE about homosexuals. I devote NO TIME to thinking about it, except when people bring it up like this. I DON'T CARE as long as it's not forced into my attention span. I really don't care what two people do with eachother. Condone it? Support it? Accept it? FUCK IT. I don't CARE about it. I'm not FOR it or AGAINST it. I couldn't care LESS.

Indeed I do think it's wrong. I also think that all religions are cults, and on average are bad for their believers. Perhaps I should start stumping for the abolishment of religion... Comprehend what was written, don't just read. The price of freedom is having to put up with things that meet with your disapproval.

LOL, I have been thinking this for a long time on this board, I know alot of these guys who are calling homosexuality "bad" would totally not have a problem in a "all inclusive" threesome with 2 hot chicks.

Some of us belive in freedom some of us don't. Homosexuality is like nose picking. I don't want to see someone pick his nose. I don't want him to tell me about picking his nose. But if he goes home and wants to do some digging who am I to stop him?

I have no problem with faggots. For every one of them, there is one less competitor (for chicks) - the odds are better! (It effectively increases the girl-guy ratio!)

unless you are one of the 144,000 that are chosen (doubtful because of the 18 billion people that have been born since that revelation), i think we'll all be meeting at the range in hell.

Forget the homo-phobic tone to this thread. I want to know when gun owners became more law abiding and moral than anyone else? I can't go to a gun board or hear about a gun show without seeing/hearing stories of unscrupulous gun dealers/sellers/buyers. Stories about how someone ripped off an ignorant rube. Stories about counterfeit collectibles. Stories about post-bans being passed off as pre-bans. Stories about accessories not being as advertised. Stories about sellers accepting money without delivering the goods. All of this and more from an honest and morally superior group!? This is the standard for all others to measured by?

No, that would be the Jehovah's Witnesses, but I think they have made some exceptions to the 144,000 rule.

Ya know? To each their own. Homosexuals are homosexuals and no amount of sef-rightous indignation is gonna change them. There have always been homos and there will always be homos. Get over it. Life's too short to get a coronary because of another person's lifestyle especially when it doesn't affect yours one whit. If you think that it is an abomination to your god, then good==the homos will rot in Hell and they'll get their punishment then. In the meantime, leave them be for the little time they have on earth to enjoy their fairy reindeer games.

I know from past posts, that many here believe it's a choice. I don't for the most part, I believe that it's hard wired into most "gays". I suppose that in rare instances it may be a lifestyle choice or environmentally induced, but by and large I would bet that most would choose otherwise. With that in mind, my attitude is don't make an issue out of it by flaunting it in my face and daring me to protest, and in return I'll MYOB. It seems a reasonable exchange.
