i just cliked "heat" (to figure out what gun Al Pacino uses) and it opened a new window and started playing heat.

ETA: if you clik the ones in the middle, they want a CC#, but the ones on the right just play.

I wonder if that's intentional or if it's a security flaw on their website?
Link Posted: 2/1/2006 6:39:21 AM EST
Maybe it's just the new releases that you have to pay for. I tried to click on the Brave New World one.

no.

wouldn't want my IP address in the logs of that site.

I don't understand how people can rant and rave all over this site about thieves and rationalize that they're doing nothing wrong by visiting a pirate site.

The domain registrant uses an addres in Stockolm, Sweeden.

I'm more than certain the server is stateside, however.

Cut and run, fast and far.

Yeh except the FBI can't visit every visitor there and shake them down for "stealing" a movie. You guys realy think you are that important???

No reason the MPAA can't operate a server out of canada - or anywhere else for that matter.

Let's see - get sued for hundreds of thousands of dollars (or be offered a 'generous' settlement for about $5,000 if you're lucky) all over a movie you could buy for about $10. Or less.

I just don't understand what kind of thought process makes people arrive at the conclusion that doing this is a good idea.

uh, doesn't have to be the FBI. They'll get your IP, subpoena your isp, search for assets, and then sue / offer a settlement based on how much they want / think they can get in order to make an example of you.

For a ripped copy of a real dvd you can get at best buy or circuit city for between $5 and $15.

Wouldnt that be intrapment if the whole purpose of the site was to lure people in to prosecute them?

Interesting, but there are no shuttle controls, and the quality is fairly poor. Direct downloading will at least give you shuttle control, but you can get DVD-quality using bittorrent.

Entrapment is far narrower than most realize.

The authorities (maening cops/feds--private parties CANNOT entrap, there is no such defense) have to get you to do something you weren't going to do EXCEPT FOR (but/for) the cops convincing you to do it.

If they stand in a hooker area dressed like skanks and wait for you to pull up and ask for pie, that IS NOT entrapment.

If they send some smokin babe into a bar to grope guys and agressively try to close a sex for money deal, that might be entrapment.
