www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A33721-2001Sep2.html HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! This left wing socialist rag is the first to opine that citizens should not have the individual right to bear arms. BUT Same pitiful rag of a newspaper is the first to squeal like a stuck pig when they see their first amendment rights being infringed on! Here is a portion of the article. HA HA HA HA HA ***************** THE JUSTICE Department's subpoena of the home telephone records of Associated Press reporter John Solomon is a mystifying affront to this principle, which eloquently introduces the department's own regulations on subpoenas to the press. Back in May, Mr. Solomon wrote a story disclosing that Sen. Robert Torricelli -- then, as now, under federal investigation -- had been overheard during a wiretap discussing fundraising with people suspected of ties to organized crime. Ten days later, the department got Mr. Solomon's telephone records for the days immediately surrounding the story's publication. Mr. Solomon learned about it only this month, when the department notified him three months after the fact. The department has not said why it sought these records, but it appears to have been an effort to discover Mr. Solomon's sources. That this intrusion was okayed by then-Deputy Attorney General Robert Mueller III -- now the FBI director -- only makes it more troubling. ************************ Hey WASHINGTON POST, getting a bit NERVOUS!

"Because freedom of the press can be no broader than the freedom of reporters to investigate and report the news, the prosecutorial power of the government should not be used in such a way that it impairs a reporter's responsibility to cover as broadly as possible controversial public issues" [green]The "PRESS" is special![/green]
