First time I've heard of it, and I live within minutes of there. That's Surfer: The Bar in Jax Beach.
When did this happen? Need more details to tell whether it's a good or bad takedown I guess. On the video alone, and not judging whether a takedown was warranted, it looks like a bad takedown as far as execution is concerned. Two failed tasers, inability to control the suspect physically, and some ineffective baton beating before a taser was finally deployed correctly. Not exactly textbook, was it? Dude was given clear commands. "Get on the ground". He chose poorly, even if the situation didn't warrant such an aggressive response in the first place. Edit: Happened in April. Surprised I didn't hear about it. Guy walked out on a tab and punched a bouncer. Takedown was warranted, execution was awful. So, good takedown in principle, bad takedown in execution |
Says he punched a bouncer and walked on on his bar tab. So, good attempted taze 2x and 3rd time for the charm.
He was given a lawful order and refused to follow it. He had just committed a crime. He's lucky all he got was tased. Fat piece of shit.
You mean use of force isn't perfectly choreographed like in movies?

Walked out on a $235 bar tab and punched a bouncer. Fuck him. Good takedown.

That moment when your silly little asp doesn't work on the mountain leg.

I've fought guys that big before there were tasers. You either used your nightsticks to strike the knees to bring them drown, which I never did.
Or I use carotid artery holds. They were out in about 10 seconds. No fuss and injuries. Then there were the times it came down to a slugfest. ![]() It was the 70's and 80's. Fuck it. Ed |

Good take down, surprised more force was not used, and it seems like the LEO was asking and tried, shit did not work with super sized drunk dude.

I'm good with it. The only thing that made me cringe was when he hit his head on the way down. It could have been reeeeeal bad.

I laughed when the female cop got involved. "Let me help... OH FUCK! He see me, run!"

One of the many, many reasons I haven't been to Jax Beach in over a decade.

Tasing him just makes him stronger, like Godzilla.
Shouldn't he have been going for the back of the knee with the baton rather than the thigh? |
The chokehold the black cop tried to put on him doesn't get used much anymore. I can tell you if done right, you will be out in a couple seconds because we used to use it and had it used on us in training. If you get it locked in, they are out before they even realize they are going to sleep. With such a thin stick though, I'd worry about crushing the windpipe, we used nightsticks.

Good. UOF always looks bad but that was well within whatever policy they likely have.

Good cause for takedown, bad technique.
Every beat cop should have at least a few months of wrestling, judo and/or BJJ. I really wouldn't want that job without at least a basic understanding of how to move people around. |
