Tag for more knowledgeable aviation buffs. I've read a few comparisons and contrasts of the two planes. Both were awesome planes with their own pros and cons. Pilots tend to think the one they flew is the best. Brits tend to favor the Buccaneer and American's tend to favor the A6. I grew up seeing A-6s flying really close to the mountains in the Cascades east of Seattle.

Roughly speaking, yes. A-6 had a heavier payload. Buccaneer was a bit faster. Buccaneer tended to be more low level, tho that may have had more to do with British tactics than airframe differences.

What Ameshawki said is right on. The only real advantage the A-6 had was slightly better all weather capability.
