With all of the talk of civil war and fascism this seems appropriate. Thing is real life might be slightly stupider than the movie is.
Barb Wire is set in 2017 during the "Second American Civil War" In the early 21st century, the USA is in the wake of the Second Civil War. The whole country is in a constant state of emergency. What was formerly called the American Congress now rules the country with fascistic methods IMDB 
Even has some naziesque soldiers in it.

The story meant nothing. The take away from the movie was giant fake tits. It is literally the only thing I can remember about the whole movie.
