Not sure if he was a communist or not, but according to the FBI, he was quite the swordsman.

There was a bit of scandal a few years back when FBI bug transcripts showed King was also bi-sexual. Needless to say, it was dropped quickly by the liberal media. But it was enough for Carl Rowan, syndicated columnist, to write about it.

Martin Luther King? or Martin Luther King Jr.?

I don't know about him being bi-sexual, but he did have a thing for the white ladies. What's wrong with being communist? It's a dirty word in this country but there are many countries that do socialism pretty well. Some of the scandanavian countries for instance. Some of them have higher standards of living, more freedoms and looser gun laws than here. People do have complaints about Canada's medical systems but the data indicates Canadians are receiving better care than we are. Sure would be nice for friends and family who are poor not to have to worry about medical bills... Too bad about their gunlaws.

Not a communist. Now Jack, Bobby and Edgar were very worried early-on that he was. I remember intense investigation turning-up nothing. Jack and Edgar did get much enjoyment from listening to the tapes from the 'bug' under MLK's bed. MLK had the same affliction I have. A love of white women.

There is a difference between socialism and communism.

80-100 million dead in the last century alone, for one. Or haven't you heard?

Only Switerland (because they lack a professional army) has looser laws than here, I believe. The other socialist nations - especially those of comparable population sizes - have far more restrictive gun laws than here.

Incorrect. Were that the case, all the wealthy elite in Canada would not come to the United States for health care when they need it. Waiting periods for care, even critical procedures, are abysmal. As my Canadian acquaintances say, "The health care system works great... until you get sick." The economic axioms are inescapable. Socialism fails, overall, because it disregards cost and efficiency.
Sure would be nice for friends and family who are poor not to have to worry about medical bills.

Utopia would be nice. But the road there is paved with good intentions. Socialism is the antithesis of individual liberty and freedom. As such, it is immoral, and foolish beyond comprehension to embrace. It is nothing more than Fabian Communism, in less of a hurry.

You've been hanging out with the John Birch Society people too much.

When somebody wanted to trash another person’s reputation forty years ago, they called them a Communist. Nowadays, they call them a racist.

The King of Adultery Both Attorney General Robert Kennedy and FBI director J. Edgar Hoover ordered King's rooms bugged with electronic surveillance equipment from 1963 onward. These tapes revealed that King, a married man, used tax-exempt money from his SCLC organization to hire white prostitutes for sex. These tapes were ordered sealed for fifty years by Federal Judge John Smith, Jr. on Jan. 31, 1977. They are scheduled to be released to the public in the year 2027. Some 90 Congressmen urged President Reagan to find out what was on those tapes before he signed the King Holiday into law. But of course, Reagan was well aware of King's notorious string of adulteries. On the day before his assassination, King spent his last night on earth having sex with two women, neither of whom was his wife, and physically beating a third. (Ralph David Abernathy, "And the Walls Came Tumbling Down," pp. 434-437; NY Times, Oct. 13, 1989, p. 14). King cheated on his wife for years. He cheated on his graduate school theses. He cheated on his doctoral dissertation. He does not deserve the title Doctor, was not a genuine Christian Reverend and his name isn't even Martin Luther (his real name was Michael; his preacher father, "Daddy" King, announced in 1935 that henceforth his son's name would be Martin Luther. The change was never legalized). Nevertheless, King is the nationally revered icon of a government system that has reversed the biblical injunction and insists on only having strange gods before us. This is the man our children are taught to emulate from grammar school onward. This is the man feted by our corporations as representing "American excellence." George Washington's birthday is mostly an excuse to have sales on used cars and furniture. No genuine philosophy or statecraft of Washington is imparted to students in February. In fact, Washington's birthday has been combined with Lincoln's to form a generic "President's Day," which has devolved into a celebration of the office itself, and on occasion, even some of its more recent occupants, such as serial rapist Bill Clinton and nascent Emperor George W. Bush. Much more than Martin Luther King's sanitized biography is taught at this time of year. In actuality, the secular lib-con religion of "Civil Rights" has become the gospel of the public schools, and children are taught that the formerly immemorial Common Law rights of freedom of association and property (the rights to hire, house and serve whomever one chooses), were the wicked historic grounds for "racism and hate." The annual, ritual intellectual and spiritual child abuse embodied in the King holiday, was made possible by that other secular icon, Ronald Reagan, who continues to ride tall in the saddle of the blathering conservative talk show hosts, who, in their double-minded dementia, cast Reagan as the last shining knight of the American presidency. This too is a cheat and a fitting appendage of the Holiday for a Cheater which their hero, out of cowardice and compromise, has inflicted on our nation in perpetuity.

If he where alive would he be just another Class Warloard like Jessa and Al? BTW Who really did kill him? I think it was his wife for cheating. Another aside isn't it dispicable what his family has turned into?

King wasn't a card-carrying member of the Communist Party, but he sure wasn't a Republican, either. [;)] He did denounce communism in his book Stride Toward Freedom. It's hard to establish who was or wasn't a communist after WWII since the communists had figured out that they could operate more effectively by covert means.

I have it on good authority that he was a member of both the Ovaltinee Club AND the Mickey Mouse Club – a Mouseketer in fact. The Communist bit, I not sure about. But then again, WGAF, he's dead isn't he?

stcyr, I went back and reviewed a few of your posts this AM. My congratulations !! I have this image of you and a couple of like-minded friends (Or perhaps you are a sole practioner ?) thinking of the next American 'hot-button' to push and then laughing to the extreme as the desired result is acquired. Maybe hoisting a pint ....or so ?? There is something just a little too casual in your approach. At any rate - Welcome ! [smoke]
