As the title says I have access to a 25 yard range indoors where I can sight in my 14.5inch M4ergy. I usually use a 55gr FMJ round, typically the XM193 or Remingtons loading of a 55gr. Metal Case (MC) .223.

With that in mind I would like to sight both my Aimpoint and BUIS so that they hit exactly where I am aiming them at 50 yards. For what I have heard if I sight in my weapon at 50 yards I will be good to go out to about 300 yardd, is this correct?

How do I need to sight in my Aimpoint and BUIS at 25 yards in order to hit a target at 50 yards?
Thanks!

You should be alright. Sight it in at 25 then take it to a 100 yard range and make adjustments from there as needed. It should shoot dime size groups at 25.

Yeah thats what I thought too. But when I got to my outdoor range, it hit HIGH at ~80 yards. So someone told me that if I sight it in for 50 yards I would be all set for shooting out ot 300 yards. I was wondering how I can sight in my gun at the 25 yard range, so that it would be dead on at 50 yards?

I think you are talking about the 50 yard zero. Basically sighting in an A2 at 50 yards gives you the flatest trajectory from 25 yds out to 200 yards

Yes yes, he knows its neat, but no one has yet answered the question. He wants to know HOW to simulate a 50 yard distance in a 25 yard range. Shesh.

I had my 16 inch M4ergy sighted in at 50 yards when I lived in Texas but here in Ohio I only have easy access to a 25 yard range and I was off at 25 yards so I had to adjust for the 25 yard range. So if you can find out how to do this that would be great....

Sight in an inch low at 25 and you should be about dead on at 50 and an inch high at 100.
