Q: What kind of firearms were used?

A: Three rifles were used.

1) Savage Model 110 FP in .223

2) Savage Model 12 FV in .22 - 250

3) New England Firearms Sportster in .17 HMR

These rifles along with the optics and load combinations are highlighted in the video.

Hey fellas, my name is Tom and I'm the creator and co-producer of the video "Prairie Dog Be Gone!" We've gotten quite a bit of web traffic as a result of this thread, so I'm dropping in to respond to a few questions and comments.

For one, we're definitely not a ripoff of anyone's work. Exploding Varmints was about gophers being blown up in Kalifornia, and was really not much of an effort on the producers part.

And as far as forwarding our link to PITA (sic), its been done, and we weren't real thrilled with that sort of attention. Frankly, I'm a little shocked that fellow shooters/hunters would suggest such action, and I'll assume y'all were joking!

I'd be very interested to hear what the fellas who ordered the vid think about it. Please be sure to post your comments, and forward us the link.

Thanks,

Tom

Every time I hear their name, I think of the best line in PITA history....

HANNITY: Let me ask you. You know, the PETA people, the animal rights people hate your guts. You know that.

NUGENT: I'm so proud. I couldn't be more proud. Every time they open their mouth, I kill a dozen of something for them.

NOTE: You won't get Monkeypox viewing our tape!

Why would you keep an overgrown rat as a pet?

DogBeGone,

I looks like your video was very well made, and looks like you and your guys followed all the firearm safety rules, unlike those idiots who made the Exploding Varmints tape.

Some of the things that I notices in the EV video:

No eye or ear protection
Shooting downrange with a highway in the background, and well within the range for the rounds.

It also seemed that the shooter might have been drinking.

Can you guys come out here to the Midwest ?
When all the idiots with pet Prairie Dogs start releasing them out of fear  of the new Monkey Pox virus, we're gonna  need some serious critter control

DogBeGone,

Before I realized you were registered here I sent Helldog40 an IM requesting that he tell you thanks, and that the video kicks ass! I'll be ordering it soon. How do you like the .17MHR? I know it's a headshot only proposition on squirrels (the tree kind).

That is some serious damage.

I have hunted woodchucks for years with my .22-250, and have only 'opened one up' on one occasion when I gut-shot him.  I have also never had one go airborn.

Those dogs are a little smaller than the average chuck, so there you have it.

AWESOME!

I was laughing so hard in my office that my wife came in to see what the hell I was doing.

I was actually crying from laughing so hard.

I will be buying soon.

Thanks for the feedback fellas, I'd like to take this opportunity to answer a few questions, and also to thank the several AR15 members who've ordered the video!

Hydguy- I'm a stickler for the rules, sometimes to the annoyance of my partners, but that's how its gotta be. Not saying I've never made a booboo or a bad choice, but I try to stay concious. Saw a buddy get it in the back with a .357 while we were driving. Scary sh!t, don't want a repeat.

CKMorley- You're gonna have to step up and fill your mags! We're gonna be busy on another project this summer, and it's not Monkeypox Be Gone!

Pony_Driver- The hummer is an interesting little round, but as you alluded to, not terribly impressive. Small Pdogs under 100 yds, ok. Woodchucks? Nah, not unless you get off on maiming them. Fun little round though, and highly destructive on appropriate sized quarry.

illigb- If you want to see chucks dance like our pdogs, you gotta jump up to a 25-06 class round. .243 doesn't even do that (though it kills them quite dead). .22-250 is a great chuck round too, but in my opinion, it's the PERFECT Pdog round.

Thanks again guys, and we're glad you're enjoying the vid!
