Picked up a couple boxes of 7.62 NATO with discount for around 9.00 a box. Originally the ammo was priced at 14.99 per box so that is a pretty substantial drop. The quality is solid as it's NATO spec brass cased ammo. 5.56 has been dropped down to the same price as well. If you guys have the ammo locally it's worth picking up

Spent the last two mornings on the way to work, plus lunch breaks, and on the way home WM stops doing just that.

Repeat tomorrow.

7.62x51 for .54/rd? I'm all over it.

We get a minor discount for working there. It covers taxes usually.

Don't be super impressed with NATO Spec. All that means to you in reality is that it's not some hot hunting load and has a Hague compliant bullet of a certain weight.

The magic of 'NATO Spec' 10-15 years ago was the minimum quality/price ratio, not that it was better than anything commercially available.

Well it depends. I went shooting with a buddy who had a semi auto 1919a4. We used PMC brand 308 and it wouldn't feed and even had a case separation. Switched to a mix of new and surplus 7.62 NATO and ran perfect.

It says less than one moa on the box. Guaranteed.

I saw this stuff last year for 19 or 20 bucks a box and passed on it. A few months ago it dropped to 14.97 a box and I came close to buying, but hesitated.

Tuesday evening I happened into wm and saw it had dropped to 9.97/box, so I grabbed three, and immediately drove to two other wm's and did the same. Repeat Wed and today.

It ain't hoarding if you actually use it. I'm set for a while now, and there's enough left on the shelves for other people willing to put in the time and effort to get it. Just hope it doesn't end up getting flipped for twice the price on CL.

Isn't this the same stuff that had the soft brass and primer pocket issues?

Turkish 5.56NATO:

Primers were ALL loose after firing. Primers came out during ejection phase and locked up the gun multiple times.

Will not shoot this ammo.

I used a handful of ZQI to boresight my Savage Model 12 at 25yd. When I moved to 100yd for zero, that crap patterned 4-6 inches. Remington Premier is under 1".

American Eagle 55gr is $7.47 a box at my local Walmart why should I pay more for that?

ETA: I'd give the 7.62 a try at that price though.

dont really have much  in the weay of 7.62 guns just a couple bolt actions but might have to go hoard some

I hope it's not crap, I've been buying a box everytime I've gone to Walmart haven't shot it yet

The box on the 5.56 ZQi stuff says it's batch tested to shoot <1 MOA.

Probably decent.  I've been picking up the 5.56 30 round boxes for $10 here in western NY.  They just came down in price from about $13 or so.

I'm going to keep looking to see when they drop the 7.62x51 in price next, it's still $15/20 here.

Also looks like Perfecta is getting more popular.  Made by Fiocchi, dist by Tulammo.  Multiple rifle/pistol calibers.

 7.62 or 5.56?

And they will for a long time at that price.

I was able to pick this up for $119 last month at a Walmart near me.

These are 62 gr penetrators in 30 round boxes for 9.97, that's cheaper than 7.47 / 20 rounds.

Nothing wrong with the ZQ1 7.62 NATO I've shot. Buying more now. Little kid about 6 years old and sees the gun rack and says "shooting guns is cool!"

This is the same stuff that ATI imported back during the 2008 panic (different box, same headstamp).

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2009/06/12/ati-importing-turkish-surplus-ammunition/

I have never personally tried it but it got a lot of negative reviews then, mostly relating to terrible accuracy and FTE's. Maybe they have improved it since then.
