Heh, they probably noticed it's one of those particular items that did not see a drop in sales despite the economy. Of course they will continue selling them.

My WalMart stopped carrying them a year ago, maybe more. It's a store-by-store decision from what they told me.

They never stopped here.
There is one about 40 miles in a college town that never sold them, only ammo. I don't know the reason they never did. There is a Dicks about a mile from them that does sell. |

I just bought a rifle from my local Walmart last week. They didn't have shit for ammo though!

It will be nice having the one in my ome town selling them again. Gives me something to look at when my wife goes over to shop for tampons

My local WallyWorld clerk told me that the employees didn't want to handle firearms because the managers threatened them with their jobs if they screwed up the paperwork. Apparently the risk of exceptions on an ATF audit isn't worth the reward of the WallyWorld wage.

Every wall-e world within at least a 100 mile radius of me quit selling guns quite a while back. I knew that they were still showing long guns on their website, but didn't realize that you could have one shipped to a non-selling store. I'll have to check into that.
Actually, a bunch that they show on line say "not sold online", "in store only". So that makes a lot of sense. Dyn |

some walmarts stopped selling guns here after katrina.the rumor was that they were looted after the storm for the guns.

I've priced all kinds of stuff from them, and they are usually equal to or below the local shops (in most cases). Sometimes local shops get big discounts b/c they order 100+ of the same model gun and have them "laying about" everywhere, but Wally World isn't too bad... |
