Just heard it on CNBC. Wal Mart will return guns to 500 of the stores they had removed them from earlier. Seems they can no longer turn their back on soaring gun sales. Reason given was there was a demand for firearms.

Think they'll ever sell any guns in CA again?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

Was just walking through the local yesterday thinking "they sure picked the wrong time to lose touch with their image"
Link Posted: 4/28/2011 11:12:26 AM EDT
They never stopped here.

Heck, with the exception of a few value packs of shotgun shells, the Wal-Mart closest to me doesn't even carry ammo.

If I want ammo, I have to go to another store, which just happens to be in a nicer area.

A few weeks ago, I went back home for my nieces birtday party, the Wal-mart there still stocks long guns.  It was nice to see.

None of the ones near me stopped carrying them.

I saw some bleeding heart on Fox 4 last night talking about how this is such a mistake.

Im glad they are comming back for those who lost them, however.

My closest one stopped carrying that kind of "rural goods", an official WalMart product category, a long time ago.

That being said, the worst ordeal I ever experience in a store was buying a Ruger 10-22 at a WalMart.  Never, never, ever, ever again.

Our Walmart around here all have firearms. Mostly fudd guns they do have mini-14s however. I bought a mossberg 500 there once it was just as quick and easy as anywhere using my concealed carry permit.I

Only some of the local ones stopped carrying them.  Glad the rest will have them again.

The almighty dollar.  Wal-Mart will do whatever they think will make them the most money.

I'm glad to hear it, maybe they'll bring guns back to the Wal-Marts near me.

Years and years ago, I bought a Mossberg 500A there. A couple of years ago, I bought a Marlin 336W there.

I can't see them ever having anything else I might be interested in. The 500A was in hunting config. I have since replaced the forearm and stock with black plastic, and the barrel with an 18" defense barrel. Oh, and I converted the action to the longer 500 action in order to fit the Mossberg factory black forearm.

Neither was a horrible experience. None of the Wal*Marts near me ever stopped carrying guns.

The fact that they are bringing them back to so many stores indicates a growing number of people joining our side.

I  heard this today on the Radio. The reason they said is to bring "Male" shoppers into the stores. Some stores are real "Whores". Years back I worked at the Sports Authority, They would stock horse manure if they thought they could make a killing on it.
Cabelas does it right. Great selection, great people. Build a following and the customer keeps coming back. I gladly drive 1 1/2 hours and pay alittle more to shop there.
I bought my Daughter a new bow with all the trimmings last October. The Sales person worked with her for 2 hours setting up the bow, giving tips and letting her shoot it there until she was totally happy with it. I tried to tip the sales guy. Figured he at least deserved me to buy his lunch, But he wouldn't accept it.

No, black SNIPER rifles in .270 and .30-06. Under $300 for a Remington 770 at my local one.
