thats ok, I'll buy six, then I'll have my wife buy 6
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 6:56:41 AM EDT
I wish mine would, I havent been able to find any useful ammo for weeks (looking for Rem 9 & 45 jhp valpacks, Fed 223 or 22lr, 12ga slugs or buck).  Who wants a WWB 50rd box of 357Sig or Win 30-06 SP, they've had one box of each for 5 weeks?

Kharn
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:00:23 AM EDT
same here. i don't care either way, but would hate to think that the decision to do that was the result of people fucking whining about not being the one to buy it all first....
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:04:55 AM EDT
Same sign just now put up at my Walmart.
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:06:02 AM EDT
I have yet to see that many boxes of ammo (all types combined) on display the last three times I've been to Wally World.
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:09:23 AM EDT
Suposedly to slow down real Gun Shops from buying at WW and reselling.

I know all the Capitalist viewpoints.... so save it.

FUCKING DES MOINES ONLY SELLS 1 FUCKING BOX A DAY OF ANY KIND FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK UUUUUUUUUUUUUU WALMART  that is all and fuck arock for good measur
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:13:30 AM EDT
the same guy is not going to be there in 24 hours, just go at 8 in the morning and 8 at night get 12 boxes and be happy.
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:14:08 AM EDT
Yep.  Email came down from Home Office on Tuesday, only 6 boxes per person per day.

Had to sign a statement stating that it could be up to job termination if found to be selling more than 6.
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:16:41 AM EDT
My Wally World hasn't had 6 boxes of centerfire pistol ammo on the shelf in 3 months...so it's a moot point here.

I just talked to the "Market Manager" (the guy over the 30 ish stores in my area).

I told him it is FUBAR.

WTF, I can has 6 boxes blazer brass (300 rounds) or I can has 6 boxes WWB value pack (600 rounds).

CCI 22LR comes 100 per, remington subsonic comes 50 per if they break up the brick.

WTF.

They SHIT THE BED when I did that this morning.

No problem here. Last few months I've managed to get about 4 boxs total from 3 different stores.

I still think it's a BS rule. Someone comes in they should be able to buy all they want if it's available. If I miss out it's my tough luck...........
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:30:09 AM EDT
MWUUU-HA-HA

Not all those price gougers will DIE!

No dog in this fight. Haven't been there since 9mm WWB > 9.99.

You can all divvy up my 6 boxes.

Really? Is that something new because of the increased demand? I'm sure I recall buying 5 or 6 boxes of 9mm down there a couple years ago.

Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:31:58 AM EDT
Walmart's store, walmart's rules.

I don't care if they have a limit or not, though hopefully some of these guys will stop complaining about them being sold out.

my walmart has this policy as of yesterday........... i fully support it. id rather be limited to one box a day, than the choice of being able to buy all i want, with nothing on the shelf...  i dont mind people buying ammo, but the stories about people buying out walmart,  just to resell, at their own gunshop/gunshow.......fuck that. ..if there were no shortages i would not give a damn, but this is getting  stupid.
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:37:34 AM EDT
I have not seen 6 boxes of identical ammo in Wal-Mart in the last 6 months.
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:37:52 AM EDT
It would be a shame to put all those capitalist ammo scalpers out of business. . .
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:38:49 AM EDT
I know free market and all but I agree with this.  Especially the part where gun stores are sending their employees in to buy it all.  It is bullshit especially when I have to drive 40 miles to get to a Wal-Mart so would like to be able to get a brick of .22lr if I am in town.  If people are buying it to keep that is one thing but buying it to sell it for profit just pisses me off.

Gunshops buying it up does happen (in Miami area anyway)

Six? Fuck, I'd be happy if they had one.
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:46:05 AM EDT
I got up at 4:30 am this morning and was in there by 5:15 because the truck comes in on Wed. night and they said they have it stocked in the morning... there were two small cases of WWB 9mm but no 22LR federal bulk pack.

Left with no ammo. Oh well, better luck next week.

Oh, and they also had the 6 box per customer limit.
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:46:49 AM EDT
As soon as I find a Walmart with 6 boxes of ammo I'm sure I'll be pissed.

New Wal Mart opened yesterday, 2.5 hours later NO AMMO LEFT. And they were limiting purchases.

People were standing in line, like black friday.
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:50:10 AM EDT
Good,

Maybe there will be a box or two left when I get there.

Not all of us have the capability to circle wal-mart like a vulture waiting on new shipments to come in.

Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:50:41 AM EDT
They limited me to 2 boxes of 9mm this past weekend. I asked the clerk why, and he said "Because so many people want to buy ammo."

The other day I noticed Wal-Mart here actually had some .223 in.  I asked how much, the clerk got a box out and brought it over and said $42.97/100  He counted and said there's 10 boxes there and acted like he expected me to buy it all.  I didn't get any.

Yep, local Walmart here said other gun shop owners were coming in and buying everything on Walmarts shelves every day. Than doubling the price and selling it to the gunshop customers. That would be $44 for a box of WWB 9mm, and there is litterally 100+ boxes of WWB on the local shelves of the gunstore next to me for $44. I hope that more people will be able to buy from Walmart now and the gunshop owners will be stuck with their $44 boxes of 9mm.

Walmart's store, Walmart's rules.
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 7:56:40 AM EDT
Good. Maybe there will be some left when I get there.
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 8:00:08 AM EDT
what sucks is that the walmarts by me all said that they are not getting the large shipments of ammo like they used to. The counter guy said that they used to get large skids of ammo. He sadly laughed and said "today we got TWO 50rd boxes of Blazer.....nobody used to buy the blazer just the WWB and now it lasted 30 seconds"

Link Posted: 4/30/2009 8:04:21 AM EDT
Hell there is this one store around here that wont sell ammo unless you buy a gun or shoot at the range.

My local range does that too.  Can't blame them.  If there's no ammo to shoot, they lose a lot of range revenue.

Good. right now its the only way to limit this "false speculation" that is being driven by cocksuckers. no different than ticket scalping. And since it aint some gubbmint law its  private coorporation none of these jerk off "free marketeers" can go "waaaaaaah! why cant i get something for nothing?? its free enterprise i tells ya!!" Fuck off and die goddamn parasites.

It's not BS.

WM makes more money selling less items to more people, than they do selling all the items to one person...

Why?

Because the 'more people' buy more 'other stuff' when they come in for ammo...

It makes perfect sense, and since it is a private company deciding of their own free will how to conduct their private business...

Capitalisim, FTW

That it makes life hard for morons who are hoarding ammo... Is irrelevant....

BS or not...they ARE acting like capitalists. They know that if they limit sales, they will draw more people into their store while still selling the same amount of ammo. More people in the store means more shit sold=profit. Not that I like it, but it makes perfect sense on their part.

Yep, I was greeted with that sign when I walked into my Wally's this morning. Of course I was NOT greeted with any damned ammo to limit to 6 boxes but ....
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 8:26:47 AM EDT
wow, im limited to 6 boxes of nothing, instead of the usual unlimited boxes of nothing. super.
Link Posted: 4/30/2009 8:27:26 AM EDT
Not too hard to adhere to that policy when there's only 2 boxes on the shelf to begin wth.

It is a smart plan on Wal Mart's end.  As someone said as more people come in to buy ammo it increases the chances that someone will make a secondary purchase of something other than ammo.

Clerk #1 sells you and your wife 6 boxes of ammo.

Clerk #1 goes on break.

Clerk #2 sells you and your wife 6 boxes of ammo.

Repeat as necessary with as many clerks as possible.

My boyfriend and I go up to the counter separately. He goes and buys the limit (one box at our walmart) then when he leaves the counter I come up and buy another box.

Next time I want to buy my box with my BF still at the counter then be like, "ready honey?" right in front of the cashier just to spite them.
