Im starting to think that whoever does the marketing/sales for Cranberry is now working for Pomegranate.

The shit is everywhere, on every magazine cover, every commercial break, EVERY BILLBOARD.

There is a comedian that speaks about Cran-everything, and how Cran is in all the other fruit/juice drinks.

Apparently we are now in the Age of the Pom

Funny you ask: the soap in my guest bathroom is pomegranate/mango scented.

I love it.

Pomegranates are really tasty and fun to eat.
And they don't reqire a ton of added sugar to make them edible.

Cranberries became too mainstream. Pomegranate makes you seem sophisticated because it didn't used to be popular.

Great marketing campaign by Linda Rae Resnick. She had a cheap crop that nobody wanted,so she made it into something everyone thought they needed.

Pshaw.

I'll pass on the peasant fruits.  Real fruit sophisticates eat/drink mangosteen.

I suspect the crops are large and steady and someone finally figured out a cheap method of getting all the seeds out of the damn things, then someone else realized that cranberries taste like evil.

Better yet, drink quality spring water. You almost feel life being added to yourself as you drink it.

You aren't sick, you're thirsty.

Because its more expensive, therefore companies can put a tiny bit in something (with a whole bunch of apple juice, water and HFCS) and charge an astronomical amount.

I do the purchasing for a resaturant that uses lots of purees. Strawberry, mango, raspberry, passionfdruit, blood orange, etc all about $16/quart

Pomegranate? $32.85 as of last week.

and possibly before that.  Pomegranate seeds were what Persephone ate in the Underworld in some versions of the myth.
