Ironically, the Navy and USCG version is "PMS" - I did NOT make that up!!

Its what you do every time you operate equipment and other actions which must be completed every so many days, for example, checking the oil and fluids in a HMMWV before driving it or every X days if it is unused.

True that. Preventive Maintenance System. Every USN and USCG division officer quickly gets very familiar with it.

Thank you, Gentlemen. Got it, PMCS is the Army acronym for what the Navy calls PMS. I was a bubblehead not a soldier.

You said it

Of course don't get that confused with "PCS" which is Permanent Change of Station.

Oh gawd....You think PMCS is bad, anybody ever have to sign the dreaded DA Form 2106, Material Condition Status Report? The bane of any maintenance officer's (or sergeant's) life.....

It is the 026 that drives me crazy on a daily basis.

swap the letters and PCMS stands for Passive CounterMeasures System onboard Naval vessels. Its a rubbery foam tile that is placed over large surfaces of the superstructure, particularly at 90 degree angles. It reduces a ship's radar cross signature by a TON.

I can't believe that seamen have PMS. That's beyond hillarious.

sounds a lot like RAM (radar absorbent material) used a lot of it in the older high-power b&w weather radar days.

Ha.

Due to a swapping of a lot of equipment and who reprts it, I ended up reporting 3% FMC on pacers last AMSS

In theater.

In truth what I am accountable for is running around 90.... but seeing a report that said 3 was funny as hell.
