I just finished polishing the frame/swingarm of my bike......after a white rouge finish & buffing wheel...it looks as good as chrome for a few days, then starts to get hazy.

My question is, can I use automotive clear coat/hardnener to apply right after I've finished polishing, so that I don't have this oxidation after its all polished up?

I've seen some protectants from Eastwood, but they run over $100 bucks, but I have plenty of automotive clear coat, and hardener left after my paintjob, and wondering it it'll work?

Anyone?

I have used Dupont clear coat on several different aluminum pieces. I have polished wheels, water pumps, and intakes, and sprayed them with clear with no problems. But you have to clean them very well, to get all grease and compund off. I have always used Dupont Prep-Solve to clean the parts, before clearing.
