It looks pretty good (or it did before some ASSHOLE had to photoshop MM's head on it), but it looks more like fried ice cream to me. Are you sure it's an apple dumpling?

That is what's called a "Cannonball" at USNA.
It is the subject of the famous "Cannonball Run", where a Plebe is eats dinner and all 12 of those things on the table (including the hard sauce). He has to get back to his room without puking. It used to buy you and your squadmates a week's worth of carry-on (no rates, bracing, etc.). I never tried it (the Run), but they're GOOD!
