Been looking for something to shoot in the backyard. Though I live in the country, even shooting a .22 bothered the neighbors. So I bought a used HY-SCORE (made in Germany) .22 cal. for $105. Seems like it will shoot about 2 inches at 25 yds. Set up a piece of scrap metal and I'm pinging all the time. Biggest hassle was figuring out the types of air rifles. It's as large a subject as firearms. And you can spend large $$$ on them. EVERYBODY should have an air rifle! [ETA] Whooops- just noticed my rear sight is loose.

Bought my kid a Beeman pelet rifle when he turned 9. I shoot it more than he does. That thing is a tack driver.

I have heard the those high power pellet rifles are darn near as loud as a .22 . Is this true ? I have been thinking of getting one but would need a relativly quiet one . Any recomendations .

I picked up a NIB Winchester air rifle ( shoots 1000 fps .177 caliber ) nice real wood stock / excellant metal.

I bought it brand new from a local sporting goods chain here in WA 'Big-5 Sporting Goods'

I think they had it mismarked ...... ??

I walked out with it for $49 plus tax

It's extremely accurate out to 50 yards ( perfect for the golf course community I live at )

Edited to add:

Winchester model 1000X made in Turkey

Nice looking air rifle.

My dad has one of those RWS models. He got it to nail the gray squirrels that were stealing all the food from his bird feeders. Will drop a gray squirrel in it's tracks w/o a doubt ( head shot )

NOWHERE near as loud.  They aren't quiet, either, but you can't hear them a quarter mile away like you can hear a 22.
